https://www.resetera.com/threads/bernie-sanders-will-run-again-in-2020.100566/page-37#post-18087125I do not understand the fan/stan mentality from people residing in foreign countries towards US politicians and hyper-investment in specific candidates in US politics despite not being able to cast a vote.
Do we not do the same in UK political threads?
There's a difference between going "I don't like X, I'd like change" and actively stanning for a specific candidate to the exclusion of all others.
A less imperialist president means other countries are less likely to be bombed or drone struck
This isn't very relevant if you're living in Norway
Well, some people would want a US president that won't bomb their country, that won't install a dictator in their own country, that won't help in instilling anti-poor policies in their own country.
The US president is super powerful y'all.
That rationale doesn't hold for a large number of countries though. It's the hyper-investment in specific candidates rather than specific outcomes that is so weird to me.
I wouldn't necessarily disagree with the base sentiment (At the end of the day, US citizens are in charge of US politics) but

"Well the USA is only bombing
some countries, not all, why do you care ?"
Also

at the denial that, rightly or wrongly, Bernie Sanders is perceived as the most legitimate / only one conductive to "specific outcomes".
