Aaah, videogames, yes, one of the most dominant and prevalent forms of media in today's age. Aaah, don't you just miss the times when this delightful, great, ambitious form of art was not infested with politics. Wait what? When has that ever been the case? You know what, in fact, since the dawn of video games itself, it's been infused, it had an intrinsic relationship with politics. Politics itself being represented in many games such as Metal Gear solid 2, er to the fact that one of the most popular genres of today, is first person shooters, which are of taken greatly from actual wars of our history, like WW2 or WW1, to the fact that politics itself has had a great hand in terms of how videogames are structured and run, like, the fact that the currency you pay with for videogames is determined by your country, the language that's on the game, the box art, is determined by the laws of your country, too, possibly, and even the fact that videogames themselves have had problems with the laws, like, the 1990s issue with censorship and whether or not videogames should be self regulated, or whether or not should be government run. The fact of the matter is, that politics and videogames have always been together, and always will be together.
