Another thing worth noting is, by nature, right wingers are often better debaters. They are in the business of peddling bad ideas, so inherently they have to be versed in the craft of packaging and selling those ideas and lying. I've seen a lot of left wing people go into debates thinking that they have the facts on their side and thus will win because they are right, and they get trounced because the right winger ends up running rhetorical circles around them with bad faith arguments. Most of the time they end up letting the right wingers control the pace of the conversation because they keep having to refute nonsense that is matter-of-factly stated. Going "well, actually, if you look at the data and analyze these trends what you said is false" takes much longer time than and is nowhere near as assertive as a simple (false) statement from a right winger.
