New guy started at work today and caught a glimpse of his phone lock screen and it was of anime girls, please pray for me.

Which anime girls, though? I need to know whether to give him a dap or ridicule him.

I'll attempt to bridge the subject maybe tomorrow, I think coming out today saying "What anime is this?" on a first day comes across a bit strong.

I'll also get the are you an incel out the way as well I guess.

Ghoul did we get an update on this or did you shirk your responsibilities to us?

Is ProJared the subway guy? Or is there some game dev named Jared that Kotaku isn’t being allowed to report on because of their new corporate overlords?

And because of this, we must still view him as being on the left when he’s openly promoting right-wing ideas on the LGBTQ community?

If I shoot someone, is that excused because most days I wasn’t shooting anyone?

“You guys are saying she’s a murder, but I saw her at a cookout last weekend, and she didn’t kill one person that whole afternoon. Seems pretty non-violent to me!”

Being on the left isn’t a badge you buy, and then you just do what you want. There are principles involved. When you’re standing for those principles, you get to call yourself leftist. When you’re reinforcing bigoted ideas about LGBTQ people, you don’t, and you need to be called out.

Look at this hypocritical bitch.

He spent months on the THQ hate parade until yesterday when Playstation announced their free console scraps. Suddenly he started trying to find a loophole so he could justify playing one of THQ's games

https://www.resetera.com/threads/ps-games-for-september-2019-batman-arkham-knight-and-darksiders-iii.137776/page-7#post-24020951

It's amazing how quickly these twats start backpeddling and abandon their principles the second they face any kind of real world consequences or inconvenience.

lmao not even being able to sustain a self-imposed boycott of a game publisher and then also making a whole thread to justify it and look for others to approve of you being too much of a wimp to just not play a video game.

I can’t fucking stand all these sexual predators preying on people in the games industry. They’re all fucking scum.

If I had it my way, this Alexis Kennedy guy would have his life destroyed. I’d want him beaten within an inch of his life. I’d have him hacking up blood and bile while he thinks about what he’s done to women in the games industry. I’d start ripping out his toenails really slowly, hearing him beg for forgiveness and mercy. I’d flay that bastard open like the worthless sack of meat he is, taking my time to make sure he feels every single second of his punishment. Finally, I’d cut him down limb by limb, one layer of flesh, muscle, and bone at a time. I’d let his victims join in to hopefully get them som ioda if relief. It wouldn’t be much, but it’s what this goddamn monster deserves.

https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/1166819919943671809

Narrator: Jason was worried, he'd been to parties, he'd touched a few butts in his time, was it now his moment to be found out?
Was it time for old Jason to take a look in the mirror? Probably not, as we all know he likes to silence his accusers

Seems weird they're biding their time to write up articles, I mean usually they just post a screen cap of a tweet and some bollocks and then later update it if they can be assed.
Usually, the possibility of being sued into oblivion is not on the cards. We all know how well making accusations of sexual misconduct worked out for Kotaku and its Gawker affiliates last time.

For what it’s worth, Alexis seems to have just posted on Reddit:
Quote
Hi all.

I want to remove this post, but I'm going to let it stand.

I've registered a denial. I've been talking to my lawyers and I'm not allowed to say anything until I've finished with them. There is a lot more to the story.

This is our personal subreddit, and if you're going to talk shit me or Lottie, please do it elsewhere. Otherwise I'll just come back and delete this when it isn't 2am.
https://www.reddit.com/r/weatherfactory/comments/cwq2sp/some_disturbing_information_about_alexis_kennedy/eyexj2z/

https://www.twitter.com/alexiskennedy/status/1166762265892311042?s=21

Someone also claims in that reddit thread:
Quote
Hi, this is a throwaway, my main Reddit account is my real name. But the timing part is this.

Shortly after Nathalie Lawhead posted her blog there was an anonymous Twitter account created-- @AbuseIndustry, but it got deleted-- that began to name names of rumoured abusers in the industry and tweet aggressively at them, including AK. This is the "anon" Meg talks about. He wasn't the only person mentioned but was the first not previously mentioned.

Nobody seems to know who ran that account, it had some very dodgy vibes to it, and some people were telling others not to trust anything they said, or even suggest that it was a false flag channer operation to target "innocent" devs. Maybe it was indeed someone dodgy-- but whoever it was, in this case at least, had got the goods. So, because the news had already broken, and because AK knew about it because of getting tweeted at, the timing looks to be a direct response to that, so the news could come from a more legitimate person.
https://www.reddit.com/r/weatherfactory/comments/cwq2sp/some_disturbing_information_about_alexis_kennedy/eygs36l/

I’m sure plenty of shitflinging lies ahead.

The only actual story given AFACIS - apart from the "Dude is a PREDATOR! He hits on GIRLS!" initial claim - describes a shitty break up.
Not a rape.
Not a sexual assault.
Not even sexual harrasment.

He dumped his GF of 2 years via email after cheating on her, which is a dick move, and the kind of thing you get drunk with your galpals and say "god all men are bastards" about.
Not the type of thing you use a hashtag intended to out fucking rapists.

The working class is problematic as it suffers from false consciousness and does not understand the importance of intersectionality in the class struggle. Thankfully, some people are learning:

I'm not surprised to find out that a bunch of alt-right Gamers are literal rapists, we already have one company where the executives are child pornography obsessed degenerates, and it's a well known fact that these types of people have been influenced by the pervasive and cowardly comedy cult for decades, especially alt-right icons like Louis CK and Andy Dick. This is why it's so laughable when these incels try to claim that you can keep politics out of gaming. That's simply code for silencing victims.

 ::)

using scare quotes for "office romance" when the accuser literally terms it a relationship herself

https://twitter.com/babelfishwars/status/1166788762392829953

I was in a relationship with Alexis Kennedy for nearly two years. He was my line manager the entire time. It was kept a secret from the whole company, including the board.

During our relationship he cheated on me with people brought to company events, and who were wanting to work with the company. He broke up with me by messaging me that he'd cheated on me with a colleague (also his direct report) at the office Halloween party.
I had to request he stop being my line-manager afterwards, though even then he was my manager's manager, and CEO.

His attitude towards me and my work changed the moment I was no longer his partner.
I was shouted at and sworn at in front of colleagues; I was given opportunities – only to have my work belittled. I was kept anxious and uncertain. I was made to feel that my only recourse was to leave the company, but...
that I would not be able to get work anywhere else in the industry.

I had to work alongside Alexis and that colleague till he left, and then her till she left. I made nice and pretended it wasn't awful as best I could, because even once he was no longer my line-manager,...

he was still the CEO and had (I thought) my career in his hands. He had always seemed popular and powerful in the industry, and I feared he could get me blackballed.
The experience left me with a great deal of doubt about my place in the industry and my skills, and left me dreading and avoiding professional events in case he would be there.
When Alexis left the company, he asked for reconciliation, stating that he 'didn't want to do anything out of hurt or spite'. I took this to be a threat against my person or my career, and decided to protect both by keeping quiet.
I'm speaking now to support all the other women who have been through similar, and much worse. This is not ok.

Who Alexis is or Sandra?

The Sandra Bland case happened when BlackLivesMatter was much more in the spotlight. There were theories the police killed her and made it look like a suicide, or were abusive or indifferent to her mental health due to racism which might have lead to her suicide, or at least beat her. She was arrested for not using her turn signal, where things escalated quickly.

The worst thing about all of these accusations is that I'm now aware of people like this Alexis nobody and I really don't fucking care. Let me know when someone accuses Derek Smart of trying to pink sock her.

Eh... seem he was involved in some good games (Sunless Sea).

I actually think that guy might have been to my house;  I'll have to ask my wife when she gets up.   We had an impromptu PAX after-party at our house w/ some cosplay chicks and indie devs.. almost everyone was Australian but I think there was a couple of brits there.

And we have a couple copies of that game that I don't think we bought.

Stay safe

See above post;  I know for a fact I chatted him up at PAX, he might have come to my house.

You're so brave for admitting this, sending you lots of love, riotous.  :goty2

As described by the above tweets the boss potentially broke the law;  you can't threaten your underling you fuck with retaliation, that's covered under sexual harassment laws.

I mean...
Quote
When Alexis left the company, he asked for reconciliation, stating that he 'didn't want to do anything out of hurt or spite'. I took this to be a threat against my person or my career, and decided to protect both by keeping quiet.

good luck convincing HR that "Can we make amends?" is a threat. Even finalefireworkers gonna :dunno that

Aww no juicy stuff. I’m going to pretend you said he groped most of the cosplay girls then later threw them out in anger, threatening that they’d never attend a PAX again.

I didn't read that one.. talking about this:

Quote
He has threatened many women with retaliation to ensure silence + compliance.

yeah, except the thing with this is its all "whisper networks" gossip about "Oh, I heard that dude threatens people to keep quiet after they've slept with him".
The only person who's actually come forward with an actual firsthand account - not "Oh, I heard that dudes a creep #metoo" - was the one who it looks a lot like a bad breakup that she feels like a victim about.

And yeah, I'm still in the camp of "just because you feel like a victim doesn't mean you are a victim". She's not describing a sexual assault. Its kinda shitty pretending its anything close to sexual assault.
If she's going around saying a request for reconciliation was a threat...  :-\
