Something I learned when I first started venturing onto message boards way back when, was no matter how much you think you like something, there are always a bunch of people who take your level of liking something to an extreme. Then, once those people make you feel like a nerd for even liking that thing in the first place, the real fucking weirdos come out to play, and these guys are fucking freaks of nature. They remember absolutely useless minutiae about the thing that you like and attempt to "big dick" anyone who even tries to talk about the topic and then they run wild with their intimate knowledge of the subject to the point that all of the normal fans just fade away and the thread is left with two, maybe three, weirdos comparing micropenis sizes trying to outdo each other with how much useless information they know about the topic.
REEEE is just like that on a grand scale, except everyone is just constantly trying to outdo each other on how woke they can be and how many reports they can generate by taking the most uncharitable interpretation of someone's post and going absolutely fucking apeshit.
