I'm 39, married, and I recently came out as bisexual. For the most part it has gone really well, but as I have more and more conversations about it with people, something inevitably happens that has been bothering me. I feel like people I have told seem to think that my telling them my sexuality immediately gives them a free pass to ask really personal questions about my sex life. Am I overreacting about this? Like sometimes I have no problem just saying "that's none of your business," but not every time. Is this a common experience for those who are out? I feel like the fact that I am in a heterosexual marriage might have something to do with it, but just because I am married surely doesn't give my mother the go-ahead to ask me if this means I'm sleeping with guys on the regular?? Maybe some mother/child relationships are like that, but my mom is not exactly a sex-positive person. We've hardly talked about sex at all, ever.

I thought I was going to get more "pit stop to being gay"-type statements, and I actually haven't gotten much of that (only from my gay massage therapist and his boyfriend, in fact). But I am really just surprised at the variety of inquiries about my sex life. Anyone else deal with this?

I am the only one who said that. It is specific to our arrangement.

So, I am bisexual. My wife is not, nor does she have the desire to fool around with other guys. I am free to engage in a limited number of sex acts with other people, but only men, and only following a strict set of guidelines.

Since she's not getting anything out of it - other than the stories, which she enjoys greatly - I'd describe it as "semi-open." It's not an official term or anything.

I also feel for that reason fiscal conservativeness shouldn't inherently be a right-wing thing, you should imagine yourself taking 50% of the income or whatever number from average people by force so you always feel a sense of responsibility to best use that money

What if the person lives there? This might be different experiences talking here, but here in NYC (and many other cities) plenty of people rent out another unit in their home. Not all landlords are evil billionaires. Many are people trying to pay off their mortgage.
