Excluding groups such as Asexuals from the LGBT+ community because "they aren't discriminated against enough," is, frankly, ridiculous. Alongside ignoring the discrimination that aces do face it turns the LGBT+ community from a support group defined by those within it to an anti-discrimination group defined solely by who the bigots approve of.

And as an ace myself I can say that, no, my life is not the equivalent of a straight person's life even if I'm bi-romantic and, as such, have the 'ability' to date a woman and appear straight. There's a fairly significant chance that I will die alone; I have never, and will never, be able to relate to one of the largest parts of most human lives; and the fact that I'm not in a partnership will be a financial and social burden for my entire damned life. That doesn't somehow 'go away' just because I'm not actively called out on the streets by bigots, and it's incredibly tiring seeing people try to dismiss those like me from one of the biggest support groups on the planet.

A lot of people think that aces and aros don't actually exist.

It's annoying enough when cishet people do it, but I once had another member of the LGBT community say that I don't belong in the community because 'asexuality is just some made-up tumblr bullshit'.

(Of course the irony being is that I'm also trans and homoromantic so like even if I wasn't ace, I'd still be part of the community regardless???)

I’ve encountered other people who were LGBT who have acted like asexuality either doesn’t exist or were a threat to the community, using methods like calling them predators or accusing them of trying to co-opt the queer identity.

It's very similar to suggesting a trans person in a bathroom is there to molest people or that people pretend to be a part of a group to invade and do harmful things.

It's almost like most of these people who think this way are also obviously TERFs.
