Its a good walking simulator. Its decently written and the artwork/level modeling is great - feels higher budget than it is. Its a little artsy without being too pretentious - a hard balance to strike. It's not too long either. I'd recommend it, especially at zero oppurtunity cost

Microsoft Rewards is doing a 10,000 Gamerscore promo again so I cranked out some GamePass games recently

- Sea of Solitude (EA Play)

Ok little "ICO" game about some girl's personal issues and her family's issues.

- Eastshade

Weird little game that looks like some Elder Scrolls mod. You walk around the land of Eastshade where you have to paint these 4 pictures of your Mother's last wishes, but in order to access these areas you have to solve some puzzles with people's issues. Theres no fighting you just explore and solve puzzles. There is some material gathering involved.

- The Little Acre

Nice animated adventure game, reminds me of Broken Sword (Charles Cecil was involved). It's very short, the puzzles arent terrible.

- Full Throttle Remastered

- Call of the Sea

Not sure why this is promoted as Series X optimized, nothing really said cum in me that's next gen. Anyway it's an adventure game where you just solve puzzles. I got stumped on 2 puzzles, the rest are pretty easy to solve. I enjoyed it.

- Superhot: Mind Control Delete

First time trying superhot and this game is pretty fun. This is the "DLC" expansion, so it doesnt have the original story and such. It has this Roguelike element where you can unlock new abilities, and as you do a level you randomly get to pick from them as you progress through the level. So if you die, you start back at the beginning but you get new dice rolls for your perks.

- Touhou Luna Nights

Weebavania. You play as some Meido who throws knives everywhere and it has a "graze" gimmick where you brush your tits against enemies and you get HP/MP etc back. Pretty short game, I had fun with it.

- Hypnospace Outlaw

Very interesting game here. I enjoyed mimicing the OS of a computer more than the garish geocities websites. It's pretty much a puzzle/adventure game where you solve them by navigating the websites and find hints to search for stuff.

You activate a punchcard in the app (ON CONSOLE), then for every gamerscore you earn, you get the equivilant in rewards. So you just play shitty easy games and quickly get 10,000

I already exhausted most of the super duper easy games, so I went for ones that had quick completions (hence my list)

There's about a week and some change left, if you want to get some quick points there are guides on TrueAchivements (for example Fractured Minds is dogshit but you get 1000 points in like 30 minutes)

Sea Salt is cool if you haven't checked it out yet.

It's brokenly busted in a bad way gameplay-wise as the difficulty ramps up. I think I used cheats for the final stage or two (and for a tiny niche game like this, finding cheats was a hell of a challenge). But it's worth playing a couple levels for some of the best indie lovecraft gaming.

I was lukewarm on the game for the first half, then I just grew to appreciate it more and more. Now I'm a stan/fan. The story is very deep and open to interpretation which i like.

I played a bit of The Little Acre. Nice game, the animations are brilliant and reminiscent of the best Lucasarts stuff from the 90s. I'm not digging the isometric world though, I'm thinking they started making a different game, changed tact and shoehorned in these art assets. It's short so i'll see how quickly I can rinse out the 1000g

Yeah, it's a non-super-satisfying game by the end, but I enjoyed the first half sandbox game a lot and some bits in the end. I think it's worth playing if you like FF.

Yeah GamePass isn't your games library, you just need to understand what it's good for.
It's good for "let's see what's on tonight" kind of gaming, and to play the (eventual) MS first party, but if you have that one game you plan to put 200 hours in, just buy the thing.

I was going to give FFXV a shot admittedly, but yeah, at this point you'll probably find it for dirt cheap.

Anyway, i started playing Observation, although it's barely a game, if you like those hard sci fi vibes (2001, Europa Report, etc) it scratches that itch well.
I'm just a couple of hours in though, and i admit some of these "minigames" are already starting to feel long in the tooth, they're not challenging in any way, so it's entirely something to get you immersed, but then why do you need so many of them?

I haven't touched FFXV since beating it when it first came out. I enjoyed it, but I'm not some huge FF fan who plays every game in the franchise (played 8 & 9 up until the final dungeon/area). I'll run through the 4 DLCs stories before they leave gamepass.

Inspired by demi to do the 10 Games, 10 Days, Road to 10,000 Challenge.

I beat Call of the Sea over the weekend. I beat Fractured Minds, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Full Throttle yesterday. I'm playing Donut County today.

Next Up: Walking Dead: A New Frontier, Walking Dead: Michonne, Day of the Tentacle, The Little Acre, and Tell Me Why.

Should be an ez 10 thousand and (almost) another free months of Gamepass.

I saw Death's Gambit was leaving game pass in a week and figured I'd check it out.

Played through the first boss and to the hub city. Actually seems pretty solid Dark Souls x 2d Metroidvania game. I like that it has a skill tree and special attack abilities. Movement/combat isn't as smooth as I'd like it and there's no map/fast travel, but otherwise seems good.

Not gonna play it now, but sometimes game pass is just good for demo-ing stuff to pick up for $1 later and play.

*edit* lol, I went to steam to add it to my wishlist and I already own it. Doubt save transfers, oh well. Was only like 30 mins in max.
