Human beings aren’t equipped to parse critique from attack when both are happening at the same time. Expecting them to is basically asking them to wade through all the shit to address what remains. You ask them to view and address ALL the harassment just to get to something worthy of addressing.
Imagine for a moment if we had asked those attacked by Gamergate to do that, to sift through their abuse and death threats to address the reasonable people mixed into it asking questions and wanting to discuss the situation in good faith. Does that sound like a reasonable thing to ask of someone in that context? If not, why would it be OK to ask Natalie to do it? Because you bristle at the idea of treating her equitably to them? You can certainly dislike and be uncomfortable with that, but that probably shouldn’t be an excuse to dismiss the effect that kind of abuse can have on one’s ability to parse good faith critique from abuse.

I think if she wants to address criticism, only addressing those who harassed her is disingenuous. Plus some of the tweets she only half censored were from people who weren't harassing her so she clearly already has seen good faith takes and purposefully ignored them when describing the intentions of her critics
