Talking to my brother this morning, sounds like Japan is two weeks behind the USA in terms of reacting to this. Their federal government is still trying to deny its a big deal and the prefectures and cities are telling people to stay home as much as possible.

Japan closed schools over a month ago.

Japan acted much faster than USA.

All Japan ran a show with 1200 people 4 days ago. Other Japanese wrestling companies have been running shows all month with anywhere from a couple hundred up to 1200 people in the audience.

Yea, they were doing "drive through" service in their parking lot. So, the line stretched out into the streets. Lots of new people that have never used the food bank before due to  the recent layoffs and uncertainty of when it will get better.

They are considering moving it to a weekly service instead of a monthly one to alleviate the demand.

They closed schools and played some baseball with no one in stadiums, but they didn't do much else. They've been trying to pretend shit was fine so that they could keep the olympics. Now that the Olympics are postponed all the stuff that was covered up is coming out.

Also should keep in mind that we've been testing more in the last few days, which explains the number of positives going back up.
The percentage of positive vs tested, is actually lower, so the curve is still flattening, as i understand it.

The shift on local conservative talk radio over the past 2-3 weeks is crazy.

2 weeks ago when Indianapolis was starting to shut down but the governor hadn't put the shelter in place order in, the main morning show had the producer flipping his shit about civil rights while the hosts were in agreement that people should stay at home, ride it out, be safe. Now that Trump has been talking about reopening the country by Easter, they've completely switched their stance and think people need to get over it and get back to normal, there's no reason to be scared, economy this and that while also talking about how many people are going to quit their jobs because they'll make more from unemployment and actually are on air making jokes asking to be fired for whole segments. They are of course against Coronabucks because they think poor people will just spend it on booze and junk food and they'll never work again.

The afternoon host was also in agreement about staying safe and inside 2 weeks ago. He now not only thinks we should all be back to normal, but it is immoral to let the economy suffer like this, and what I heard today was him going on a rant about the media (all these media hosts talking about the media as if they aren't part of it bugs the shit out of me) are showing that they HATE Donald Trump and Republican voters, and the wool is being pulled over your eyes, etc etc, but then was particularly upset at late night hosts and Seth Myers in particular for not being entertaining enough.

While unemployment gets a boost, is it stated anywhere how long that $600 bonus applies?

Also, being a full time grocery store worker that makes around $330 weekly take home (we're paid weekly instead of bi weekly), the idea of being in the line of fire and not getting more significant boosts to income sucks ass. I am getting a $300 bonus next week on my paycheck. Which is nice, but I want more for the shit I'm doing.

To give you guys an idea of how well Kroger is doing, our store goal about two weeks ago when panic buying started, was around $60,000 on Friday, and $70,000 Saturday. We ended up doing $134,000 and $120,000 on both those days. We did $600,000 for that week. These past two weeks, my store amongst thousands has made around 2-3 million dollars in revenue.

And my store is typically middle in the road for being a top earner in the district. Grocery stores had a ginormous boom this past month, like, swimming in money boom.

A small but necessary price to pay for sound fiscal policy.

Eurobonds would onlly end with the Dutch voting against the EU and electing Wilders or Baudet instead.
And the same thing would happen if many people died because transfer of patients to Belgium is not possible and this crisis depletes our healthcare resources.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. With Schengen closed, the Russians in Rome and the Dutch and Germans blocking Eurobonds as the south literally bleeds the EU is effectively dead.
The only ones who haven't figured it out yet are the bureaucrats in Brussels.

Not too surprised to see cases jump back up again once things opened back up and people started returning to their normal routines. And exactly why the "We need to get people back to work again right now!" is an extremely bad idea.

Unfortunately, it seems to follow that deaths will lag a bit behind new cases flattening. And when we'll sort out the people who died without being accounted yet... Apparently some places are at 10% more deaths than last year on average YoY.

That was one aspect worrying me about news of the curve flattening, because some people may already start to "relax" and feel like it's time to start reopening shit again, when in reality, this is exactly the moment to double down on things, in my opinion.

tl;dw
Famines. People eat anything they can find.
Wildlife is declared a "natural resource". Minimal regulation, appaling conditions (stacked cages, animals shitting on one another).
This becomes the new status quo, even after food security from conventional sources is restored. Wildlife exploitation becomes billion dollar industry with strong lobby.

The weird/funny thing to me is I went to my local Kroger and all the store brand shit was gone, but everything in name brands were fully stocked in all categories of the store. You never see that, or at least I never see it. Also weird to me was the gas prices were all over the place, all within a few blocks I saw $1.56pg, $2.88pg, and $1.80pg.

It's still crazy to me that this virus puts 20% of everyone it touches into the fuckin hospital and it barely matters what age you are. And most of the younger victims survive hospitalization but not without first getting holes punched into their lungs. Like god damn.

whats this about hole punching?

Probably fibrotic scarring of the lungs. As some cases proceed to serious pneumonia, lung damage can occur. So the people in very serious condition unsurprisingly carry damage out of it.

So far Canada seems to be tracking at 3-5% of US stats.  Not great.

US doesn't test as much relatively, so American numbers likely quite underestimated
