Yeah, we have opted out of the flu shot thing. It's a discussion every year, especially now that we have a kid, but it just doesn't seem worthwhile. f I get the flu, I'll get sick for a bit and then get better. It sucks to get sick, but hey. I'm definitely not one of the "no vaccines for my kid" dudes, but for flu?

Everytime you go to the doctor and he gives you a prescription (or take pretty much any OTC medicine) there is a one in billion chance something insane or bizzare could happen. I also don't get flu shots but it has more to do with me being lazy rather than fear of any side effects.

I worked with a guy that was eventually diagnosed with dystonia. He was perfectly normal until last summer when he thought he was suffering from hypoglycemia but when we tested him for it, everything was fine. Then about a week later he had a grand mal seizure at work and he's been fucked up ever since - basically he's in the same condition as that woman but nothing like walking backwards or anything like that alleviates his symptoms. He had to medically retire and is now confined to a wheelchair.

It's a crazy disease.

And I have to get flu shots annually, but it's because of the work enviornment. I come in contact with a lot of nasty stuff.
