It's obvious that it's a fun game, but it isn't the Divine Reclamation of Sonic™ that some were expecting. It wouldn't be such a big deal if underfooter wasn't in there trying to convince himself his mother still loves him.

I will mention that I did not expect to happen, what just did.  Through the years I have posted in forums, I have seen others talk about reporting issues with retailers (such as trying to hurt the original Xbox, Nintendo in general (before DS became popular and before Wii came out), PS3 as of late, etc.), so I didn't think anything of what I said, until there were tons of replies.  Although, I was never going to report in the first place, it was kind of a joke.  I just have to deal with what happened and move on.

Hmmm, I am actually just jumping aboard the FFXII boat now, picked the game up 3 weeks ago and have been playing on my weekends. And so far I don't really like it very much. It's not horrible, but nothing special. Then again I don't like Amirox's sacred-cow Earthbound series so I'll just troll him on that =P

330,000 or so imo. It should outsell the 360, but don't expect it to make that a trend: I fully believe the 360 will outsell the PS3 on a consistant basis leading up to the holidays. It should trade places for #1 with the Wii often

Why?  The DS Lite has been sold out everywhere.  When I picked up my PSP, I saw at Best Buy another guy forced to buy a PSP instead of a DS simply because there was none left.  Sony benefitted from the shortage, which is good, because that means they'll continue to support the system hopefully.

Circa Christmas and after - yep.  I don't know when that'll reflect on NPD numbers, but Nintendo was selling as many units as they could keep in stock.  Especially in January, Sony should've mobilized to sell as many PSPs in wake of the hardware dry spell.

Yea the DS had huge shortages. When I went to Gamestop a few weeks ago they offered to buy my DSL for $90 lol. I didn't bite. Apparently they're also calling people trying to buy back copies of Zelda

I wouldn't be surprised if GAF is merely holding off on the numbers because of the weak PS3 showing. For all that "100,000 a week" bullshit they come up with less than 300,000 in 5 weeks. And to tell the truth, it's not like the 360 blew the PS3 out the water. But as of right now the PS3's Jan. was worse than the 360's first Jan., in which the system suffered massive shortages. From the looks of things the shortages for the PS3 are over in the US and Japan but people are unwilling to admit it.

As Willco said the PSP seems to have benefitted from the DS shortages. And the Wii...wow. This is signifigantly bigger than the Gamecube's first Jan. If Nintendo can find a way to keep the hype alive until the big game releases like Metroid Prime 3, they could really hurt Sony.

One more thing: the next gen war is over whenever MS drops the price. They can hold their hand all through the spring and summer though; a $600 system is definitely going to go through massive droughts in low sales periods for the industry. Between October and November 2007 the three biggest franchises in the US market - GTA, Halo, and Madden - will all be on the shelf for the Xbox 360. While it might not be the most traditional business thing to do, a pricedrop in early November would be a megaton. Halo, GTA, and Madden on a $300 system? Game over, period.
