I love it.

Unlike DBZ, I think SM has aged wonderfully. The first 8 episodes are slow, but after that it's great.

The character interaction is good as I remember and the story lines are I like some of the characterization more in the manga, though. Like Rei in the manga is all I DON'T NEED BOYS but in the anime she's just as dick starved as Usagi. But it's a quibble.

I'm watching Golion on Crunchyroll.

It's not repetitive at all. 

But it is okay, and I remember all those Voltron toys when I was a kid but they never actually showed the show in my area, same thing as Macross / Robotech.

Macross is on Hulu and I think it held up pretty well and was a pretty damn good show.  Golion might get good, I dunno, but I'm pretty bored with it so far.  Seemed interesting to watch it unedited, watch some bystander extra characters get maimed horribly or something, I dunno... but yeah, it's enlarge beastman of the day, make robot, use sword, repeat.  Waste as much runtime as possible with the same sequences of boarding the lions and performing the combination... although this actually makes viewing it faster, I can just skip any of this junk I've already seen 10 times.

Golion is basically an animated version of those super sentai fighting force shows that started in the 70's, which is partially why is doesn't hold up as well as a show like Macross that had an on-going storyline and more grounded action.

They're all 14 and the guys are like 18-20. And in one episode Usagi gets drunk and makes out with Tuxedo Mask. 

But other than Tuxedo Mask being a bit date rapey, PGSM is a pretty awesome show still. I just watched through the first season myself.

Yeah the guys are too old. In the manga, Mamoru is in high school. He's like only two years older than Usagi.

Yeah, that was really smart of them.  Get funding from government, release a high quality short film to get people's attention, then kickstart more of it. 

I'm not even into anime much anymore, but I'll throw them $50 for a Blu-ray & artbook and to help it get mad $$$ so they can make it a full length feature film.

Been marathoning Sailor Moon in Japanese.

I love it.

Unlike DBZ, I think SM has aged wonderfully. The first 8 episodes are slow, but after that it's great.

The first season or so of SM was pretty laughable with the Scooby hijinks and monster of the week format. It had it's charm but it was very.... 80's, lol. Also dat endlessly repeated stock footage.

The rest of the show had much better pacing and less dumb moments. The final arc was just crazy awesome.

DBZ doesn't hold up all that well, but I think Kai was amazing and stands above most of today's anime. Amazing what just a little tweaking can do.

In regards to SM, don't concentrate on monster of the week. You should be concentrating on the characters interaction with one another, and once Zoisite gets involved, their interaction with the monster of the week, because they're usually human characters the cast latches on to. Also, storylines start to last for long stretches of episodes like Naru's depression from Nephrite's death.

And Sailor Moon is from the 90's.

I think the first season is fantastic by virtue of Usagi's character growth, the mystery of the silver crystal, the moon princess, and the moon kingdom. Then again, I haven't seen later seasons of SM since I was a teen.
