Magi apparently has "production issues" next week too. Wat? The animation is pretty bottom of the barrel. :lol

I was excited for the end of this season after reading the manga but last episode let me down :( Doesn't quite pack the punch I wish it had. The music too seem pretty bland :'(

I should get around to reading the manga but I really like the show and I think that I'd just draw unfavorable comparisons.Although apparently the show's almost caught up to the manga already?

The animation doesn't hold up to that standard outside of a few key scenes after the first episode, but they never run out of style.

The BGC hard suits were pretty awesome, and the world was visually aping Blade Runner pretty well, but I can't recall a damned thing about the story.

In other news, I finally saw Summer Wars tonight, 5 years after its release. That was some seriously good stuff. I really dug the different animation styles between the cyber world and real world, and the various characters were very well-realized. Fan-service was also largely limited, which I appreciated as a dad since the heroine is a high school student. Also enjoyed the bilingual pun of the AI's name, "Love Machine."

Likely a better movie than Transcendence will be.

i've been reading this korean manga (which the internet tells me they are called manhwa) called yureka, it's about this trio of people which really likes this MMO called lost saga and how they play it a lot and you know the most amazing thing about it?

- if a player dies in the mmo,he doesn't die in real life, in fact the character in it die several times
- they aren't stuck in the virtual world
- there is no big mystery or drama,it's just a normal MMO

basicaly the MMO premise is just a way to have a fun and silly comedy/fantasy/action manga, like .hack but without the dramatic bullshit and i'm finding it really enjoyable to read as jokes about the game nature of the world are often frequent's and the character are represented as normal people just enjoying a game

well ok i guess i lied a bit in that there is a small mystery, the title yureka is derivate by the fact that one of the player finds some sort of super bot called yureka so while adventuring they also have to figure what makes her special compared to the other bot in the game but surprisingly, it's something that mostly happens in background while the player themselves have fun murdering monster and doing event and the like

I was hoping the Japanese copy would at least have English subtitles; a few of them do, surprisingly; but it was Japanese audio and Japanese subtitles, so I tried to keep up with the language, and mostly vigorously read the subtitles through the whole thing. Probably watch it again with them off, now that I understand what's going on.

Yeah, my whole family watched Wolf Children a couple weeks ago; it was really impressive, and we were torn up by it. It was fascinating to watch the children grow and change.

Great Rumbler's other recommendations, I haven't seen, so I'll line them up!

Man, I have seen Totoro with each kid SO MANY TIMES NOW. I never get sick of it, but it went from emotionally supercharged to unfortunately a little flat for me. It's pretty super though.

Unless the former is actually Japanese, or has had a broad release in Japan, it's unlikely I'll be able to find it.

I've queued up the latter for later viewing; is it safe-for-kids? It looks cute, but with Japan, you never know when panty shots or creepy uncles or whatever are going to appear.

I've seen and enjoyed Arietty. I think I posted about it here; it's under appreciated.

Yeah, despite coming from the same studio as Kill la Kill and Inferno Cop, there's really nothing objectionable about Little Witch Academia.

i've actualy read that mangaka + assistant manga, it starts funny with jokes about how absurd how the series the mangaka is writing (which is never shown but the mangaka describes just as "panties everywhere") is actualy popular and the like but as it progress more and more, more character get introduced and all of them are anime loli or are there to molest the anime loli which turns the parody into the thing it's supposed to parody itself
