Rumbler, Berserk just came back from hiatus last week. Also magus if you liked Berserk, you should read Gigantomakhia as well.

When people say "dark fantasy" in regards to Berserk they mean it, especially the first two (or three, I forget) volumes, before the style solidifies some. It gets a lot less dire once he starts travelling with a regular RPG party.

i've read vinland saga,i've even posted impressions here, i've read because i tought it would be like berserk but with an ending BUT TURNS OUT THAT ONE DOESN'T HAVE AN ACTUAL ENDING EITHER

and honestly even if both have lot of similiar point (ultra-violence,plot that span over several years, main character with daddy issues) i think i'm enjoying berserk better because A) it's more fast paced, B) it has a super natural element C)
spoiler (click to show/hide)
vinland saga character slowly turning into jesus sounds kind hard to buy where berserk works the other way around

i've also read another title like that which was called ubel blatt but i stopped pretty soon because i found it pretty bland

wolfsmund,i didn't read

oh by the way on a scale from horrible to 4chan how horrible is caska going to die? :heh

it's not a big deal if the hiatuses are well planned.  the last break was perfect.  it sucks when togashi drops out mid-arc, multiple times, and one storyline lasts over 8 years.  though to be fair it's the longest storyline by like double.

Is the HxH anime close to catching up with the manga?

yeah, but there's a good couple months left.

i've got to chapter 234 of berserk and i have to say, i really liked the whole golden age arc, yet i don't like where this is going, this is slowly turning into "gats and his shitty friends", i hate all these new characters that got introduced, especialy the super annoying bad attempt at comic relief, and i especialy don't like how caska is starting to get kidnapped more times than princess peach and the whole thing feels incredibly fillerificious for whenever the writer finaly get his ass back on the whole "REVENGE AGAINST THE 4 MAGIC DEMON" plot

i've read this manga called aiki, the manga opens with a power scuffle between martial artist school girl so at first i tought it would be the sort of pandering fighting manga like ikki tousen (especialy since the first chapter's are pretty fanservicey) but as the chapter rolls it start shifting it's focus and start focusing on this character called joukyuu, joukyuu is some sort of super martial genius to the point his father broke his bones to depower him and his super martial arts power have made him an horrible smug jerk

which is what makes this whole manga so enjoyable, joukyuu act like a complete buffon, fight like some sort of psycho-jackie chan and 8 times out of 10 purposefuly makes thing harder for his allies just for shits & giggles, just look at his loveable face

it's a pretty short manga (topping at 100 chapters) and while it's action packed, it's completly void of all the thing that happen in your average shonen like power of friendship, people powering up and pulling special moves and dramatic villains that want to blow up the world (in fact almost all of the villain in this manga are completly idiotic which is also what adds to the charm)

i think the artist used to draw porn which i guess explains the first raunchy chapters

jesus fucking christ, i've been reading ichi the killer, this is the most squickish manga i've ever read, wulfsmund got nothing on this and berserk looks like child play by comparison, there aren't enough :mindblown :goty :oreilly :kobeyuck to describe this

plot! a bunch of people captain by an old man called jiji decide to murder and steal all of the money from a big shot yakuza, they do this thanks to the help of ichi, a mentaly unstable guy who turn into an homicidal machine everytime he's threatened, by murdering people with razors planted on his heel as he recalls previous traumatic event from his life, this also sexualy arouses him because murder out of trauma wasn't apparently horrible enough

this sends the yakuza second in command, kakihara into a rage, as he search for the killer of his boss, jiji tricks him into starting a war with the other yakuza clans, since kakihara is a sadomasochist, this give him an excuse to murder and torture rival clans in the grossest way possible

and i swear to god there is like something super gross going on every 3 chapter at least, it's like if they made a manga out of the darkest corner of the internet

This thread's been too quiet and it's golden week. Where's your :expert pride.

Been watching, just haven't been posting.

I watched a bunch of crap, dropped some of it, and I've pretty well settled in on the shows I'm gonna watch this season.

Da Best
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders (Ep 1 - 4) - THIS MUST BE THE WORK OF AN ENEMY STAND!

Ping Pong (Ep 1 - 3) - Table Tennis is SRS BSNS. I'm really digging the art style.

Da Good
Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san (Ep 1 - 4) - Yuri panderbait garbage, 10/10, would watch again.

Puchim@s!! (Ep. 1 - 25) - Literal moeblob show. It's great.

Soul Eater Not! (Ep 1 - 4) - Really has little to do with the main Soul Eater series, it's basically a Slice-of-Life show set in the Soul Eater universe. It's cute, though. Also contains high levels of yuri pandering.

Is the Order a Rabbit? (Ep 1 - 3) - This season's "cute girls doing nothing" show. (i.e. Kinmoza, Yuyushiki, Non Non Biyori)

Atelier Escha & Logy (Ep 1 - 3) - A nice chill fantasy series (based on the game of the same name, obvs). Good show to unwind with.

Nanana's Buried Treasure (Ep 1 - 3) - Guy moves into an apartment haunted by the ghost of a cute girl treasure hunter who make him go find all of her lost treasure and buy pudding for her, while she stays at home and plays Virtua Fighter and Terraria. Seems legit.

No Game No Life (Ep 1 - 3) - NEET guy and his loli sister get sucked into a universe that's ruled by games and references to Phoenix Wright and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Seems legit.

Chaika: The Coffin Princess (Ep 1 - 3) - It's like Scrapped Princess, but with 100% more coffins.

DA DUMB

Riddle: Story of the Devil (Ep 1 - 4) - A class full of schoolgirl assassins are given the assignment of killing another schoolgirl, but one of them falls in love instead.  :heart

Date a Live II (Ep 1 - 3) - Dumbest show ever, I wish I could quit you, DAL!

The Irregular at Magic High School (Ep 1 - 4) - The MC is a big ol' Gary Stu who gets all the chicks wet, including his sister, and whoops lots of ass. I can't stop watching this mess.

Captain Earth (Ep. 1 - 4) - BONES trying to remake Evangelion yet again. The pretentious technobabble comes hard and fast, but it's all so goofy, it's hard to take seriously.

Magica Wars (Ep 1 - 4) - Magical girl parody thing. I dunno, it's only 3 minutes long tho.

Mekakucity Actors (Ep 1 - 2) - Shaft gonna Shaft. It may either be the greatest anime ever, or a steaming hot mess.

Selector infected WIXOSS (Ep 1 - 2) - Yugioh + Madoka. Card battling is all fun and games TILL SHIT GETS ALL GRIMDARK ON YOUR ASS.

DA PROBABLY GONNA DROP THIS SHIT SOON I CAN'T EVEN WITH THIS

Daimidaler (Ep 1 - 3) Our hero pilots a giant robot powered by horniness. Will he be able to grope enough titties to save the world? (Spoiler: Yes)

DA STILL ON THE FENCE

One Week Friends (Ep 1) - This is the OMG FEELS show of the season, and I did enjoy the first episode, and the characters are cute, but I just don't know if I can watch an anime that steals plotlines from an Adam Sandler movie.

20th Century Fox was involved in producing it, so a NA release had to be offered to them first. As they don't seem interested in that, we may get a release from somebody else eventually.

:drudge YUGIOH WARNING :drudge

Been watching the new series Arc-V. First four episodes were great, especially the last one. Had some real stakes, crazy moves, cool visuals, and a lot of heart. Not only that, am I the only one that thinks the OST is pretty amazing? When Yuya was doing his Block Spider thing the music was ace, same for the Pendulum Summons. :mynicca

Also, as I grasp Pendulum Summons more they don't seem so hax (still pretty hax), but Odd-Eyes Dragon definitely seems broken as hell. Slap on an ATK-booster and it can do some pretty big damage unless your opponent only has low-levels. :expert

Action Duels are fricking dangerous, damn. :holeup
