I'm totally fine Kaori dying, you could see it coming a mile away, the ending itself left me wanting for better epilogue. I almost feel like it could have ended on a stronger note if the part where Arima is playing during the recital was the ending proper.

Yeah, it was made obvious early on she was going to die but it seemed like there was still time. Still had time left and a surgery to maybe buy some more time.
And then bam, the surgery to possibly extend her life ends up killing her right then. I was expecting her to die before long but at that point in time felt like a gutpunch.

Check out Space Dandy. That show seems to exist solely to celebrate animation. The style changes a lot from episode to episode, and they never re-use any scenes from what I've seen.

I don't how many of still watching Jojo(which should be all of you) but the last few weeks have been really nice especially since we're in the home stretch now. Even though I have a good idea of what going to happen due to watching the OVAs years ago, it's still exciting to see.

The ending to Vanilla Ice part 2 was pretty fucking intense, had me wanting the next episode really badly. I know what Dio's stand does (from exposure to other media), but I have no idea how stuff is gonna play out, nor did I know which characters kicked the bucket along the way.

I thought for sure Polnareff was gonna die to Vanilla Ice. Also for Abdol to come back via some hijinx like last time, but nope. He and Iggy gone, just like that.

Finished Sword Art Online II over the weekend.  I liked that this was a more varied season compared to the first one, but a lot of stuff felt kind of recycled from the first storyline.  The last story arc hit me right in the feels.   :'(

I know there's more books and I'm sure a season 3 is coming.  I hope that they move away from medieval fantasy games and try something different, like the gun game MMORPG did.  Speaking of which, I loved how Kirito was like the only one who went for a sword weapon in the game.

Other than brief reminiscing about recording the OVA on VHS when it ran on German television in the middle of the night. Still have those tapes in a shoebox somewhere, too. I also have Evangelion, Bubblegum Crisis, Armitage III, MD Geist, pantyshot-galore Agent Aika and some others I'm forgetting. I basically taped everything they aired. Stayed up for it, too, so that I could cut out the commercials.
They also aired some blantant hentai anime that had the explicit scenes removed. Something about a dragon hunter. They did the same thing with porn. Picked something that had a very involved story so that they could sanitize it without losing too much runtime. I remember seeing one where the actors's shadows on a nearby wall clearly revealed that they were having actual intercourse. I bet someone was really proud of that. There was talk that they showed explicit scenes a couple times as well, but I never caught any of that.

I saw some of AD police, with a robot cop having a tongue or something like that (?) found it a bit meh, too serious and dark without self awareness for my tastes IIRC, hence why I query about the original series, seems more light hearted. AD Police was supervised by Shinji Aramaki and I'm not too hot for him in an overseeing capacity, probably because his efforts as a director on Appleseed are rather mediocre considering the source material.

BG is generally not too dark or serious, although I found episodes 5-6 to be overly melodramatic and a huge step down from the rest of the episodes.

So because there's a new Ushio and Tora anime coming out soon, I decided to check out the original OVA series first before the new one arrived and I really enjoyed it. The series is a nice action show with nice fight scenes, nice music and nice voice acting(I watched with the english dub).

 I know they're probably others but this is the only series I can think of that has a tsundere monster/demon MC "I-I'll only save your life because I have to be the one that kills you" and it happens a handful of times, I can't imagine how much it happens throughout the entire series which is based off a 33 volume series.

The new series is done by MAPPA(Shingeki no Bahumut,Garo and Punchline):



Also the final episode of Jojo is tomorrow.

Second season of Psycho Pass was a mess [but still had some decent episodes and ideas], the movie is being done by the team from the first season, though.

Just watched the first two OVAs of Ghost in the Shell : Arise and it is utterly mediocre. Poor production values, bland art, music so ambient you won't even remember it was there and a story that goes down the most predictable road with a shitty case of prequilitis because God forbid characters existing without daddy issues I guess. Unfortunately, the arching story gets no help from the individual plots, rehash of the same 6 Shirow stories but with terrible pacing and lacking any flair (Action scenes are passable). There lies probably the issue, there's really only so much you can do with this fictional universe and Stand Alone Complex already did it in probably the most truthful adaptation of the manga possible.

I like the two OAV series from 89 & 93, no masterpieces by any means but they're pretty funny and in that true to the manga. Didn't watch the 2006 ones, this whole CGI/3D/celshaded looks fugly as shit.

As for GitS, I guess an anime adaptation of the trainwreck that is Man-Machine Interface would be funny. But Solid State Society already picked the few worthwhile ideas that were there, I think.
