The lady who ranted about Keijo (which completely backfired-- she even notes that she got a bunch of responses thanking her for introducing it to them
)
is back with more on the DREADED FAN SERVICE!Fucking up right in the first paragraph.
Today, how you feel about panty shots can determine how you feel about anime as a whole. And it’s not just panty shots. In the blockbuster anime Food Wars, women’s clothes burst off their bodies when they taste an exquisite bite of steak. Skirts often don’t cover the bottom halves of women’s butts in Prison School. Breasts are regularly the first body part to enter a shot in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?. In the West, the practice of lacing gratuitous sexuality—and especially female sexuality—into an anime is known as “fan service.” Love it or hate it, anime studios have made a conscious effort to feature “fan service” in most of this year’s Western-subbed anime titles.
1. Food Wars regularly has
both the females and the guys' clothes 'explode' when they taste the food.
2. Prison School isn't a "fan service" show. It's a blatant sex/gross-out-comedy. There's crazy shit and nudity going on for both sexes. Maybe she should actually
watch the stuff she's criticizing.
3. I don't remember seeing boobs all over the place in that last show. But I also don't remember. It was generally pretty forgettable.
It should be pretty easy to get examples of blatant female fan service, but somehow she manages to fail, again.
