I'm a bit cynical so I would suspect the straw that broke it all was simply the fact that writers started up and quitting, with more expected to follow, and there was a pretty swift mobilization of negative PR mounting.
Tbf the show itself wasn't super racist, it has roseanne defending a muslim family and a kid who's obviously not subscribing to gender norms. But as usual the revival wasn't very funny if at all and felt unnatural in most of it's acting and delivery. So can't say I'm sad to see it go.
