I actually forgot I own Gothic 3 on D2D, and from what I remember it is a steaming pile of shit.  :teehee

Gonna also try the Flotilla demo to make sure I actually like the game instead of buying it just because it is cheap.

Got Kane & Lynch since I've been wanting that since hearing the PC version is actually good and worth playing unlike the console versions.
Also grabbed Gothic Pack because 2 wrpgs for $2 is cheap!

Flotilla is really cool.  I played the demo a while back and planned to buy it, but I had a bunch of other things to play and I try not to create a large backlog.  But since it was on sale, I got it.

I think it's on Xbox 360 through community (or indie? i don't remember) games now.

Got Kane & Lynch since I've been wanting that since hearing the PC version is actually good and worth playing unlike the console versions.
Also grabbed Gothic Pack because 2 wrpgs for $2 is cheap!

I regret uninstalling Kane and Lynch now since the sale may have sparked the online community for a day  :-\

I bought Fort Zombie on D2D for $2.50 today.  It's quite possibly the worst game I have ever played, from the needlessly complicated controls to the flat graphics (which still run at an awful framerate) to the terrible management system.  There is nothing good about it.  Not worth $2.50, or even $0.25.  I hardly ever do this, but I made a special note of the developer name (Kerberos Productions) so that I never make the mistake of purchasing anything by them again.

No seriously, did you buy it blind? Looks like an iphone game.

I don't much care about looks for cheap indie games, and I expected it to be less than optimized (and was it ever), but they failed on the most fundamental level - control.  You're constantly fighting between the mouse camera/wasd movement, like trying to play two games at once.

I actually liked the sequel a lot more, but both games are worth playing.

you'll feel even worse when you see the CoD pack as a daily deal for $15!

apparently steam has been raising prices even for the lasting sale, but generally it is good to wait until the last sale day since daily deals are the best ones.

I mostly just want Metro 2033

Never said that - mine is basically used for reading comics and books. But that's more than enough to make it the most awesome thing ever.

I'm getting the PC for sure...some kind of 480 build with an SSD. Not going SLI though. Just a matter of when. The timing issue is kind of out of my hands, as my wife keeps stealing money from me to use for her start-up business. :gloomy

Good idea.  A decent SSD is essential for power gamers, maybe even more so than SLI.   Everything just feels silky smooth like old school games running off cartridges.

I want to get an SSD eventually.  I don't know how many games I'll run off of it because I generally like keeping my games installed.  My steam folder is 150+ gigs and that doesn't include non-steam games.

I can't judge.  I remember buying Morrowind and reading the manual until I had a computer that could run it.  oh, and crysis, but I was able to at least play that at the lowest settings.

There's a trick to link your SSD folders to a hard drive so that you can still keep Steam on your main partition.  Also, moving files back and forth is actually not much of a hassle because a SSD writes and reads small files so quickly.  I just keep all my games on 2gb of hard drive space and copy the ones I want to play onto my SSDs.

You can get the individual XComs for $1.24 btw, if you are only interested in the original and sequal.

Also, is there any fan-made graphical mod for this, I remember searching for one awhile back and came up empty but find it hard to believe there isn't something (not looking for pretty, just something that's functional in a window larger than the games original res on my laptop lcd screen)

No.

But a powerhouse computer that can run it with SSAA x 2 @ 1080p @ 30fps in FPS helps a lot.

The mods don't work with the newest patch though because the creator threw a prissy fit about Rockstar not contacting him to help them.  Some guys tried to do some stuff with his work but they just aren't as talented.
