Jojo is on CR?

Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency are both up on CR and they get new episodes of Stardust Crusaders every week

Yorknew is a badass arc. I might watch it again

Kurapika's arc was so perfect, but it STILL needs a definitive resolution.

Chaika: Coffin Princess has some really well choreographed fights in it. It's also a pretty good show, too.

that's so weird. A large part of why Sailor Moon was popular is because it appealed to both boys and girls. Making the event girls only is odd.

I'm not sure if it's a male-only thing but I've definitely heard the term "Moonies" in the Sailor Moon fanbase and I shudder to think what could happen if they blow up as big as bronies.

i've actualy finished reading elfen lied a while ago but i didn't post about it because it just wasn't there anything worth to say after what i wrote, are you ready for the INCREDIBLE SPOILER about the ending?

spoiler (click to show/hide)
it ends exactly like old yeller, except with more loli tears because japanese people empathize better with loli's than dog's
[close]

fun fact: there is quite a big stretch were none of the main character are shown and the plot focus on this scientist girl as she tries to escape an island full of murderous psycho loli's and it's the only part of the manga that is actualy readable because it actualy start to feel like a proper horror/action manga

Awesome. I spent most of last night catching up with the manga. I couldn't help it after yesterday's episode. The anime is closer to catching up to the manga than I thought. It's gonna suck when it goes on hiatus.

Those toys always get domestic releases, so you can find them selling for around $55-$60 each once they come Stateside.  I got the Ghostbusters one but don't think I'm going to bother with these two.  They did one for Men In Black, too.  And then there's all the Marvel/DC ones and the Tekken/Street Fighter ones.  The value will often go up pretty quickly, too.  I have one that goes for $200-$400, but I don't think I'd get that much since the box got crushed in a move.    :'(

i've started reading Monster, yes it's another manga of naoki urasawa...

i have a weird love/hate relationship with naoki urasawa, on one hand his drawing are amazing, he often sets his manga during historical periods making them feel more realistic and giving them an unique flair, and the manga he writes are basicaly psychological thrillers which are as far as removed from your standard manga (eg: action manga where the character fight and scream for 10/15 chapters or love comedies where 3-4 things with boobs and no personalities orbit around a clueless protagonist) that i can't help but enjoy them

however the guy screws up in several way... the villains in his manga never have a clear motive and are rarely shown that in the end they just feels confusing, the main characters always act more or less like saints,at times his manga devolve into really stupid "good vs evil" affair (mostly noticeable in pluto which is based on a manga for kids and yet somehow ends up having dialogue more childish than the source) and he really can't do endings at all

but anyway... monster, a doctor called tenma (oh, i just noticed he's called like another osamu tezuka character, you sly devil urakawa :lol) is one of the most skilled surgeon in a hospital so knowing urakawa fixation with tezuka at first i tought it would be like blackjack, but no... tenma is supposed to become the director of the hospital thanks to his skill, however that all change when out of guilty, after the director of the hospital forced him to leave a random nobody to die, he decide to disobey the director order and save the life of a kid instead of the mayor of the city, this in turn draws the ire of the director ruining his career... that's it,until the director mysteriously die and the little kid together with his little sister vanish, however as he gets involved with a witness of a murder he ends up discovering that the murder of the director was done by none other than the kid he saved along a shitload of other murders so he basicaly ended up saving hitler 2.0, this spawn a long game of cat & mouse with tenma trying to find the kid again so that he can kill him while wondering if it's ok to take the life of another or not, saving lot of life's and getting found by the police (who think he's the real culprit) but not captured because of his sanctity like every 5 chapter on average

aaaaannnddd eh it's the same premise of 20th century boy, a random dude gets involved with someone SO EVIL and MYSTERIOUS only he can stop it as long as it will take many many pages, 20th century boy was interessing but the ending was really stupid

spoiler (click to show/hide)
if i remember correctly, the villain get himself killed in a really dumb manner, so another character which they literaly put out of his ass replace him, then somehow for some reason i can't even remember the apocalypse happen and the main character turns into some sort of hippie, then the villain turns into a giant monster :what
[close]

so somehow i can't help but wondering when i'm going to get disappointed
spoiler (click to show/hide)
apparently the kid has a double personality disorder... I CAN ALREADY SEE THE GLIMMER OF STUPIDITY

Monster is good. It's still trying to make you cry a bit much, but it's good. I'm pretty much over Urasawa though. His latest (?), Billy Bat, has a pretty neat premise, but in the ends it's all built around mystery and tears too and I just can't be bothered.
