Our pro-dalit laws have transformed a rigid, millenia-old power structure that was brutal and regressive. A change like that is bound to be messy and difficult. But it's worth it.

America's race problem is rather like America's gun problem. Neither is unique to America, and other countries have made significant strides in solving them.

To implement those solutions will require Americans to compromise on some of their rights. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening any time soon.
