Spurs simply too good for the Grizz. The Grizz may have great defense but their below average offense dooms them. The Spurs may not have great defense but its damn good and so is there offense. They are just a much more balanced team. Curious to see what moves the Grizz make in the off-season to shore up their clear weaknesses.

And its 97-89 Spurs.

Fuck Memphis

Shit team, shit basketball

Randolph can't do shit when the refs don't give him bs calls like in the 1st two rounds

Duncan and the Spurs get enough respect that they could hit back whenever Randolph initiates contact by lowering his shoulder

Thinks are really looking up for the Spurs. They have an easy path to the finals now. I think they match up well against the Pacers. Beat them both times during the regular season.  And I definitely think they have a shot against Miami. Miami better show up tomorrow tonight.

Heat might be too gassed to beat the Spurs even if they got by the Pacers

Their old farts are already laying a ton of bricks

More worriedly, Lebron is starting to look tired from having to do so much

Majority of the blame has to be on Riles if the Heat don't win it all

He took a huge gamble on a bunch of guys that should probably consider retirement

I expect a big game from Bosh.  Key word, expect.  If he doesn't have one, there needs to be some coaching adjustments to free up some room for Lebron and Birdman to stay inside a bit more and keep Bosh near the elbow.  Bosh just doesn't stand a chance against Hibbert in regards to rebounds.

Also, Wade needs to stop being such a bitch.  Also, stop taking such shit fade aways.  Honestly, he should probably distribute more this game than Chalmers.  At least Chalmers has a decent 3-shot.

I expect Allen and Battier to actually hit their threes tonight as well.

Bosh will always be on the shakiest ground of the big three. If Miami fails this year, most of the blame will go to this philosophy of not needing a true big man, and that you can have this position-less offensive system. The verdict is yet to be written of course. If Miami wins the title then its all been vindicated. If they don't then, well....

All the other three finals teams have true big men who play like big man. Miami is the only one who doesn't where Bosh is sent out to the perimeter and high elbow.

Well, I think thats kind of a stretch.  They DO have a true big man, but an unconventional (and somewhat unproven) one in Andersen.  I still think next season they should tool around with starting Birdman, with a starting five as Chalmers, Wade, Lebron, Bosh, and Birdman.  Chalmers as your distributor and deep threat, Wade as your obvious number two, Lebron being Lebron, and Bosh as your elbow and screen setter.

I don't know, it might be worth a look I think.

Birdman plays 14 minutes a game which is nice but doesn't get around to problem of them generally not having a real center out on the floor or a real rebounder most of the time. This whole approach started when they beat the Thunder last year but the problem is this approach seems to work wonders against 95% of the league, but creates a big problem when you play teams like Indy, San Antonio, Memphis, Chicago who can really exploit it.

I was hoping for a better series from the Grizz. Randolph just couldn't finish any plays. The Grizz offense just puttered out with their defense to fuel it. Conley passed up open shots to keep running plays that weren't paying off.  (at least from what I watched of the series)

Congrats to the Spurs. I thought last year they had the perfect team but things just didn't work out. Glad they get another title shot. And better yet they play pretty basketball.

And they are a very good team so it will be a worthy final.

It's up to the timekeeper, too, right?  Obviously the officials could each have overruled it, and it was a bit of a travesty that they didn't.  But man, this is one of those "you had one job..." situations for the timekeeper.

Plus he should be a homer, if anything.

True but how can three officials miss it? Usually when there's a 24 second issue the officials pick it up. Were none of them looking at the ball hitting the rim?

Malone will be working with the Jazz next season to develop their big men :o Pretty hype for Utahs moves this draft, first up they need to replace/bench Maurice badly. Hoping they pick up Steven Adams too. I have faith Lindsey is going to do something interesting.

...Joey Crawford... Furthest ref from the hoop blew the whistle :-\ Much more ridiculous than LeBrons blocking call, he did stand on Stephensons foot, but it's so dodgy making such borderline calls with 50 seconds on the clock, in a tight playoff series against a star player. Reeks of ego crazed refs trying to artificially impact the game

I was thinking the LeBron illegal pick might have been a makeup call after the 24 second violation.  To add to everything else, the ballhandler (Wade?) denied the screen, so Stephenson wouldn't have been involved the play anyways.

Had to rewatch it, from memory it just seemed like a wide screen, but he does move and steps on Stephenson
Quote
the offensive player setting the pick must remain stationary at the moment of contact with the defender; a screen is illegal if the screener moves in order to make contact, and obtains an advantage
fair call (except the advantage part), he stepped on Stephenson, LB is all "he just ran into me" but he stepped on him. No dice LBJ. Still a strange call to make at that point in the game imo. But it was a game full of much worse calls.

Anyway, next game should be better. I like Indiana but I'm holding out for a Spurs Heat series. If this series finishes on game 6 Crawford will be officiating in the first game. Duncan better not laugh

Miami showing the first bit of life.

I still hate Bosh out there shooting three's on the perimeter though. It's not like Indy's offense is especially inventive or anything. They take an average or slightly below average shot but then crash the boards like maniacs and get offensive rebounds and second chance points.
