Man, stop bitching

What else do you do when something like this happens? This is the modern equivalent of Xerxes burning down your village.

Is Cormac okay? I just assumed he hadn't been posting due to being busy at work or life or something.

I know I've spent too much time on The Bore when a serious post about beef poisoning automatically fills my head with sexual euphemisms. Hope he gets better soon.

Zach Lowe's stuff on Grantland this year has been zomg fantastic.  Just awesome detailed coverage that touches on every (non-Skip) aspect of the game.  All he needs to do now is stop getting his jimmies constantly rustled on Twitter.

Spurs are done IMO. You can't drop the ball like that and come back in game 7, on the road.

LeBron had a decent game, but the main factor was the Spurs effectively handing him their spurs. I think they realized it wasn't to be with 30 seconds left, and took their bow into the history books.

That's a pretty common prediction right now but as this series has shown, momentum usually doesn't continue into the next game

I want to believe, I will have so many feels if the Spurs lose this. I want them to win, and Duncan, Ginobili and Parker to retire TOGETHER in a glorious triumph. It would be sad but amazing.

On another note fuck the timing of these games, at least have 1 Friday/Saturday game. In NZ we play Rugby at the proper time (Friday and Saturday evenings) so you can get pissed and yell at the TV.

The most exciting game of these playoffs since the Bulls somehow beat the Nets.

Horribly officiated but what else can you expect from Joey Crawford.

Somewhat anti-climatic. It looks like Danny Green was supposed to be in the corner on that Manu drive, but the timing was off, and Manu left his feet like he always does.

If Emergence Day occurred under American Airlines Arena and just swallowed up both teams, and all the Heat fans, that wouldn't be a bad thing.

I hope your sister gives you syphillis, BrandNew.

Why would BrandNew want his sister? She hasn't dumped him for another guy yet.

What can you say. Very impressive. I'm still not sure I believe the Heat are better than the Spurs but what does it matter. They pulled together and won a title against a great team and a great coach. This one is more impressive than the Thunder one simply because it was so much harder and against a completely different style.

Spurs played hard as fuck. Gotta give them a lot of props too.

The history books will not be kind to the Heat. They won a ring on a shortened season and on a fluke game six that will never happen again in NBA history.

Quote
The history books are written by Nike and ESPN. They will slob the Heat.

Quote
Except game 6 where he threw the game away in the fourth, bricked a three, etc.

Quote
Congratulations Heat.
Congratulations for Final MVP Manu.

superteam winning it all and getting slobbered all over like it was anything special, so sad

Awful.

I hate the Spurs. I hated rooting for them. But I hate them even more for validating the Decision.

He's still a bitch for running to Miami doe. Magic, MJ, Bird, and Kobe didn't have to run to another players team to chip.

Quote
If it was not for his offensive rebound in game 6, they would not be champions right now.

Quote
Fuck the Heat. A team with three all stars beat a team that features geriatrics, journeymen, and role players. Congratulations on that. It took a shortened season and a game six fluke that will never be repeated in NBA Finals history again. I can sleep soundly tonight knowing that there's no way in hell the Heat will win another title because Bosh is shot and Wade won't be able to stay healthy.

Kind of a decent example in media narratives.

Tony Parker was 9 of 35 in the last two games. Obviously some of that is due to the injury. Some of that is due to Lebron guarding him, etc. He will be criticized but imagine the stories and narratives if Lebron had gone 9 of 35 in the last two games.

Looking at the Heat payroll for next year is interersting. You will essentially have the same team except for Birdman.  They will somehow have to convince him to take far less than his market value is probably worth after the season he had.

They also have a decision to make about Mike Miller. You are paying him 6.2 million next year and 6.6 the final year of his contract which is a player option.

That's a decent amount of money for essentially a 3pt specialist during the playoffs but he has been effective at it. Last season 31-75 from beyond the arc in the playoffs. This season somewhat less attempts but still the same high percentage at 16-32 (not sure if that includes his 0-4 tonight. Probably not)

I have a feeling the sense of keeping the team intact will mean they keep him.

Heat Franchise Laughs In Nation’s Stupid Fucking Faces For 10 Minutes

MIAMI—After winning their second consecutive NBA championship, members of the Miami Heat reportedly spent 10 minutes Thursday laughing in the nation’s stupid fucking pathetic faces. “Ha, ha, ha,” said Heat small forward LeBron James, who stuck out his tongue, pointed at television cameras, playfully shoved his snickering teammates, and cackled wildly at every goddamn miserable lump of shit in America. “Oh my God, my sides hurt from laughing at all those dumbfucks.” At press time, the Miami Heat announced plans for a nationwide victory parade, visiting every city to laugh right in your disappointed fucking faces.

Heat Fans Wake Up To Learn Team Won Game 7
SPORTS NEWS IN BRIEF • Sports • NBA Basketball • ISSUE 49•25 • Jun 21, 201

MIAMI—A number of self-proclaimed “big Miami Heat fans” woke up this morning, turned on the local news, and were reportedly thrilled to learn that their team won Game 7 of the NBA Finals last night, sources confirmed Friday. “So they won the trophy?” said 47-year-old Coral Gables resident Frank Gardner, echoing the sentiments of millions of die-hard Heat fans throughout the area, who went on to note that they started watching the team more since the franchise acquired “LeBron James and Chris Bush [sic].” “We turned in early last night, so this was just great news to wake up to. So what does this mean for them now? Do they move on, or how does it work? I'm excited.” When told of the victory, a number of members of the Heat Nation said they love Shaquille O’Neal, think he’s a character, and that he must have played very well last night for the Heat to have won.
