I got a raise but I'm a little disturbed by it.

My department's Vice President gave me a raise.  I said "Thank you".  Then he went on some empty spiel.  Then he says, "Well, I hope with this you decide to stay with us for a little longer."  Now I didn't tell anyone that I was looking for another job so I said, "Oh, I'm not going anywhere but thanks."  I've been wanting to move on but absolutely nobody knows about what I want to do.  I guess it's better than them telling me to pack up my shit so I'm going to ride it out until I graduate and find something better/different.

For the first time since probably January, I'm going to meet someone for a coffee date. And for the first time in a long time, this will be a date where the female in question is 1) actually around my age range (in fact, a year younger than me) and 2) quite attractive. :rock  We had a pretty good rapport going on OKC, so hopefully things turn out well.

It would have been nice to have the option to shun; she was blocking the entrance to the building like a fucking jackass and I had to do the "I'm saying pardon me but I really mean get the fuck out of the way jackass" routine.

Some people are just dicks to their kids :tocry

Man I get it, I've seen it. Actually relatively common in CACS and Indians. I just don't understand it.

The worst are Jehova's witnesses though. I had a buddy in college who was one of them until one day he up and said "this is bullshit" and walked away. Not a big deal for most people but to these shitbats that means you are excommunicated from your family with much haste. He had to quit school and I lost track of him. I mean that day his dad stopped paying for his college and his apartment. Kicked him straight the fuck out.

Nah, my family is interfaith / secular. The closest thing to a religious spat we've had is me telling my mom to stop being a fucking rhymes-with-hunt at a Jewish wedding when she wouldn't abide the gender segregation rules we were made very well aware of before going to the event. #Protocol13
