I'll definitely give Gauntlet a try, but I have low expectations since I didn't like Arrowhead's first two games.

King's Quest should be fun, but a single episode is kinda cheap.

Another good month for Japan PS+

Sen no Kiseki II (Trails of Cold Steel II)
Some Steins;gate spinoff for Vita
Some Shmup with tits for Vita
Lunatic Dawn PS1
Some old manga basketball game for PS2

Mainly just good for Sen II haha.  Between Sen I + Sen II + all the fighting games, I'm definitely getting my $50 worth out of this for 2015.  Last month was Tri-ace's Phantasy Star Nova for Vita, which I should probably try one of these days just to see if it's any good.

Also, US games are up.

Yeah, this is the danger, isn't it? Sony has been great about releasing compelling games on PS+, so much so that (for backlog heavy people like me) buying PSN games feels like I'm just paying to have it sit on my hard drive until I eventually see it offered for free. Every good title which hits PS+ hurts subsequent launches of PSN games.

So tonight I had the PS3 on and suddenly felt the urge to play some new game, something quick and inexpensive : Boy what a pretty depressing experience.

Hey FF Tactics, it's a classic and it's right up my alley ! It's on PSN right ? Well yeah, but not on the European one. I switch to the US account I made a while back and never used but heh, it won't accept my PayPal because "password is invalid". I re-enter my info twice to make sure but to no avail. I try again from the phone but PayPal won't link either from there, except the error message doesn't say anything about the password. Guess a PayPal with an European adress is a no go ? (Any pointer as to the exact hiccup would be appreciated BTW).

Well shit... Not in mood to start a 80h RPG but maybe I could get Persona 4, I loved P3:FES and surely this one is available ? Nope, not in the EU. OK while on US store, I saw a couple of PS2 ports for the Nobunaga's Ambition series, would be curious to see what the fuss is... oh wait, not on EU store either.

Maybe a ice hockey game, it's been a long time ? Guess what, the only one is NHL13 at the sweet price of 40 euros  :lol

I then spent another hour aimlessly browsing, experiencing the mandatory Store crash and struggling with the horrendous listings, and only came up with a handful of titles that could interest me (Front Mission 3 but I already completed it back on PS1, Parasite Eve II but I got cold feet, the latest Space Hulk game but it's apparently somewhat middling and at 29 euros, Baseball Superstars 2...). It's now 11pm, way too late to start a download for a quick game, I decide to resume what I was originally planning : watch some Youtube vids.

I know I'm picky and all but I was super underwhelmed. There's a couple of recent indie titles that piqued my interest but if it's at all on PSN, it's only for PS4. Store is as shitty as always and (unsurprisingly) prices are all over the place, with some games still fetching 69,99 despite being several years old and made half-obsolete by sequels.

The Space Hulk on PSN is like the board game (i.e. subject to aleatory whims) which is why people hated it. I like Ascension (the less RNG sequel) but it's not Space Hulk.

Yeah, that PSN (ported from the 2013 PC title) Space Hulk game is apparently a tad on the shallow side with the random events being the main source for spicing up the tactics. I would pull the trigger at 20 Euro bucks I guess.

get the psp port of fft. it has some slowdown but it has a coherent translation for the story and tutorials so it's a way better experience. also i don't know where you're getting your info from but legend of dragoon fucking sucks. it's was a hi budget knockoff of ps1 final Fantasy games but it played like shit. i think most of its fans were young at the time of its release so they didn't know any better.

dissidia 12 has lots of characters but if try the demo first to see if you actually like the gameplay.

I might wait to get another batch of games, but which is better, Grandia 1 or Final Fantasy IX?

I played through Grandia 2 in the past, loved every second of it. I really like FFVII and FFX overall, XIII had great side quests/hunting gameplay.

Also been thinking about Syphon Filter and RE2.

I actually like PS1 visuals. It's right in the middle of a digital world being realized and the player having to fill in visual blanks with their imagination. Its also amazing how games differentiated themselves stylistically while they all have technical similarities.

I've played a ton of Syphon Filter 1 in the past, debating on getting that or one of the sequels, which I've barely touched in the past. Next batch of games I get are probably going to be Syphon Filter ___, RE2, and Grandia 1.
