i kinda liked blur :'(
I'd also like to raise this point (as I'm assuming we're coming from that same gaf thread): Is Pink Floyd really as good as ever seemingly drugged out teenager says they are? Honestly, I never understood the love they get. I guess I can understand their contribution to rock, but honestly the way I see Pink Floyd is about the same way I view how the white trash America rocks out to Skynard and Halen. Pink Floyd is much better than both, I know, but I just can't stand all this "DSOTM, OMG" talk.
What's the Story Morning Glory sold 19 million albums
I'm not denying that they are very good musicians and writers, and I have listened to Dark Side a couple times. It just seems like people say they love Dark Side and Pink Floyd for the sake of saying they like Dark side and Pink Floyd. Comfortably Numb, Great Gig in the Sky, and Shine on You Crazy Diamond is about as much Floyd I can handle.
Comfortably Numb's solo is indeed fucking awesome. Easy too!
What does it matter? One Oasis album, worldwide, has outsold the entire Radiohead catalog worldwide. It's a fair comparison. Radiohead's last album didn't even go plat on either side of the Atlantic. Oasis's last album went triple platinum. What's the Story Morning Glory sold 19 million albums
Stateside?

I think they're all shit, personally. Blur is the only band I can't stand for more than a day or so. Radiohead have an album and a half worth of good music. Oasis has and always will be terrible.
Let's talk about the Kooks.
I've never listened to this "Manic Street Preachers", but I think Pulp is overrated shit.
I notice how British bands are totally awesome.
Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Supertramp. :bow :bow

Because your entire argument was why did Oasis catch on here, with that location being the United States of America. I'm asking, of the two bands, who has a larger cumulative sales total in the States?
What's the Story Morning Glory sold 19 million albums, probably more than Radiohead has sold total. How is Oasis more popular than Radiohead. . .hahahaha!
Oasis used to be really popular among the n-sync type people I think.
Alanis is another artist that has sold more albums than the entire Radiohead catalog with one album!
This topic is depressing. I can't believe What's the Story, Shitty Album has sold more copies than every radiohead album combined. I mean, is there a more accessible and mainstream album than The Bends? I find it hard to believe OK Computer has sold more than The Bends, regardless, both should have trounced every shitty Oasis album. Go cry some more you pussy ass brits and claim you aren't stealing beatle riffs, fucking wankers.
IIRC, Oasis was WAY WAY WAY before *NSYNC. *NSYNC hit it big in the U.S. in 1998, and in Europe a year or two before. ...Morning Glory was released way earlier.I know, Nsync was very late 90's and Oasis was early 90's. They just seem like they would be liked by the same type of people.

I was born 88, I just hated all of them.

I was thinking the same thing about The Bends. I would assume OK Computer would have sold more, but I would have thought The Bends sold a lot more than Kid A and Hail to the Theif.
You're a boy, it's different. :)I think I was a backstreet boys fan. I didn't even pay attention to who they were. somebody asks me what I like, I say backstreet boys. I didn't even know the names of any of their songs.
I bet you liked, say, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears (before she went crazy).
Uhm, did you know the Backstreet Boys were all sexually by their manager, right? So was Justin Timberlake, apparently. That's probably how he got them to hit those high notes, come to think of it.
In the US, this is the order in which the Radiohead albums sold:
OK Computer > Pablo Honey > Kid A and Amnesiac (they sold about the same amount, Kid A a wee bit more) > HTTF > The Bends
Yes, their best album. . .sold the worst in the US. And yes, Pablo Honey is their second best selling album.

I always got confused which one justin timberlake was on. I think I called him a cigarillo and backed that up a few times.
Uhm, did you know the Backstreet Boys were all sexually molested by their manager, right? So was Justin Timberlake, apparently.
Has anyone from a big-name band ever come forward about that? I thought the people that had come forward were all nobodies. Not saying it didn't happen, and even if Justin's skittle was diddled, I wouldn't expect him to publicly (or even in sealed court records) admit it, since it would, well, make him the biggest joke ever in high schools and shit.
Nick Carter's mom has been quoted saying he tried some funny shit with her son.
But doesn't he live off of reality TV, basically? Getting molested would mean big ratings. Especially if it was on air.
Nick Carter's mom has been quoted saying he tried some funny shit with her son.Yeah, and then there was the whole thing with Pearlman getting arrested in Thaiwan I believe for propositioning a 14 year old male. I wouldn't put it past JT to give a back massage for a million.
I liked BSB, too, but I was "loyal" to *NSYNC. You weren't really allowed to LOVE them both, lol. My best friend liked BSB more. Justin was from *NSYNC.*yeah I remember that whole you're not allowed to like both of them thing. I don't get how music got to that point.
From what I understand of that woman though, she basically exploits her children and I'll take anything she says with a grain of salt. That said, Pearlman supposedly had sleepovers and stuff with the boys in the bands. The youngest guys (Nick Carter and Justin Timberlake) were seriously 14 and 15 when they were first starting out, so there's something seriously wrong with that.
