If the movie was edited better=MOTY

But sadly I can't think of anything to edit out...outside of the dino chase. And I wasn't too fond of the repetitive Kong/white girl romance scenes interrupted by out-of-nowhere violence during the NY scenes. Just fuck her already. I need to watch it again

I loved the group of characters omg. Any movie that features a large ensemble of characters who set out on an epic journey=automatic win in my book

In all honesty, it came for free with the HD-DVD drive.  I didn't even know it was in there until I opened the box.  Also Shake is obese.

Feel free to mock me:

. . .I actually did like King Kong, but I was aware that it was (mostly) on a visual spectacle level.  There were some good scenes on it, though it was way way way too indulgent.  Not as indulgent as Wes Anderson's garbage movies, though.

There's a thin line between ambition and bombast, and unfortunately Kong leans towards the latter. Everything is big and extravagant, and while this works through much of the film it really wears down towards the end of this three hour romp. Despite this I love so much about the film - from the beautiful recreation of New York to the pure adventure scenes on Skull Island. As I said earlier, I love movies that introduce an ensemble group of characters who depart on some journey; the little kid in me still likes cheering for supporting cast members, hoping they don't die during the adventure. Kong features a great group of explorers, but I never was interested in Brody as the main character. Also I hated how the final act of the film - Kong's arrival in New York - totally abandoned most of the surviving members of the expedition.

I haven't seen it since it came out, but I remember the naggingly long parts being:

1) All the shit on the fucking boat
2) The end in New York.  Motherfucker die already!  I don't need to see frollicking in the park and shit.

That is like a full 1.5 hours of the movie combined right there.

It's this item.

The port is on the right of the package.  You just stick it into the port for VGA/Component,etc.

Are you going to check out the sale at CC that I told you about?

I liked most of the boat stuff; there were some funny scenes. And I love the scene where Jack Black is confronted by Andy Serkis and the black dude, who proceed to tell a scary story about finding some stranded dude out in sea.

You don't need it.  I use an hdmi cable from monoprice and the component cables that came with my x360 for my toslink.  I posted a topic about it http://www.evilbore.com/forum/index.php?topic=13040.msg308277#msg308277 (http://www.evilbore.com/forum/index.php?topic=13040.msg308277#msg308277)

edit:  Unless you got the core package, in which case you'll need to buy either the MS HDMI cable or the MS Component cable.  They both have the digital optical out built into the cable.

The problem is, the cable is too fat to use both the MS Component cable and an HDMI port.  I shaved down the component cable box but apparently you can insert a butter knife into the box and pry it apart so the cables will fit.

I saw that but, no offense, your mod is kinda ugly.  Also, I move my 360 around so I don't want to deal with a partially open connector.

well you don't have to shank the hell out of the protective cover for the cables now.  Now you can just pop off the cover so it won't look fugly.

Alternately, you can pay the MS tax.  There are no other options.

edit:  It's not really an 'open connector.'  If you find my topic on GAF, someone linked to a Digg article showing how to pry apart the cable.  The rubber piece that I ground down completely snaps off, leaving a metal box around the connector.  It's not open, but, it might not be grounded either.  Which is why I left my rubber piece on, even though like you so eloquently put it, it's kinda ugly.

Transformers was the worst movie I have seen in theatres since The Phantom Menace.  No way I am touching that thing.

It should be noted that I did not see Attack of the Clones in theatres.  If I did, that would be the benchmark for movie theatre badness, since it makes Phantom Menace look like Dr. Faustus in quality.

I had low expectations, too.  I just wanted to see shit get blown up and awesome robot fights.  Michael Bay failed to deliver.  I thought his schtick was that sort of thing, too.

1) There's not enough action altogether, considering how long the movie is.  I won't count the shitty plot against the movie, since that's clearly not the point of this sort of thing, but I will hold the fact that they spent too much time developing it, and spending time on tossoff characters that aren't entertaining and aren't even used for any purpose of the movie against it.

2) The action that is there is generally no good.  I'll go right for the throat:  the last sequence in the town sucks nuts.  The frequently disappointing CG aside, the poor designs of the Transformers made multiple parts of the big showdown difficult to follow.  When two robots were fighting in close quarters, it was a pain to tell where one robot ended and the other began.  It's a fairly obvious issue, and that was like, indication super big number fucking one that they needed different designs.

3) The scene at Shia's house with the Transformers hiding was the most fucking distinguished mentally-challenged thing I have ever seen

4) This movie fucked with the Jesus.  This movie peed on the Jesus.  This movie fucking sucked.

Shia was the one good element.  I went into the movie thinking he was some lame next big thing, but he actually did well, considering the terrible material.  I don't think he will be detrimental to Indy at all, after seeing this.

Attack of the Clones has maybe one good sequence, the whole stuff at Kamino - the designs of the aliens, the fight with Jango Fett in the rain, that's good stuff.  Everything else pretty much blows.

Phantom Menace gets too much hate. Oddly time has been better to it than how I saw it in 1999. It's a decently solid 7/10 flick. Which is better than how I saw it when it came out, its grown on me.

Clones has gotten worse with time though. The two parts I like are the Jango stuff in the rain and I kinda enjoyed the droid factory stuff where hayden and portman were running around it felt a lot like a flash gordon serial.

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. Return of the Jedi
5. The Phantom Menace
6. Attack of the Clones

I really think Return of the Jedi gets far too much love. The Jabba stuff sucked.

What the fuck is wrong with you?  Revenge of the Sith better than Jedi?  That's stupid bullshit.  Revenge of the Shit is barely better than the other two prequels.  It is basically fan service of things George Lucas probably couldn't fuck up.  And the beginning of Return of the Jedi is the best god damned part of the movie.

Like I said, Return of the Jedi is over-rated I think.

The jabba stuff is unbearable I dunno why but I can't stand it. Too muppety puppet stuff for me (and I like the muppets!)  Sith at least has lots of enjoyable action scenes. The only good stuff in Jedi involves Ian McDirmad.

That's what makes it great.  I've seen it probably 10 times and I have it in HD on my dvr right now.  That will probably be the last time I watch Sith for awhile though.  At least till the hd discs come out in 2025.

There's nothing enjoyable about Revenge of the Shit. Even the action is lackluster, especially the Yoda shit. Ok, some things are cool. I would have preferred to see Anakin actually kill some lit'luns or whatever they were called

Jedi is awesome and I like the Ewoks so stfu. Plus the final battle with Darth Vader/Palpitine was sex

The beginning of Return of the Jedi is by far the best part of the movie.  In fact, it's probably the only great part of the movie.

It was, but thats it. Jabba half of the movie is boring. Ewoks are boring. It has 25 great minutes. Sith I enjoyed the stuff with Dooku at the start, LOVED the yoda duel (and I hated the one in clones), and the ending battle on the lava planet. All of that adds up to be better than the good half hour of jedi.

You don't like Jabba and yet you're friends with the Dark Shake - you are a walking contradiction, Cheebs.

What the fuck is wrong with the beginning of Jedi, I ask?  It's not half the movie, either!

Fuck, that might be the best portion of the trilogy, aside from the shitty FX on the big ass monster in Jabba's palace.

There is no logic to my dislike!
Have fun with this:

Quote
Merrick here...

..with some newly emerged details about the STAR WARS television series we’ve been hearing about. I’m referring to the live action project…which’ll come around AFTER the upcoming CGI series.

This news comes to us via the highly trusted Kuato, who has taken up a singularly unseemly residence on Harry’s belly. It was difficult to understand everything Kuato said…I couldn’t make out every word through so much slobber and rasping. I hate talking to Kuato; it's gnarly and it's a pain in the ass. But here, for your consideration, is part of what I gleaned:

We’ve previous been told the television series will be set between movie episodes III and IV, but we didn’t know much about what to expect beyond that. Kuato illuminated: we’ll get a little bit of everything in the show; the series very much embraces the broad scope of the STAR WARS universe. For example, we'll revisit Pod Races, and the characters and shenanigans/politics the events bring with them. Kuato said that one of the racer characters is someone we were actually introduced to a long, long time ago: his name is Thall Joben. This name sounded familiar to me, but I couldn’t quite place it. I looked him up. Turns out, we met him in episodes of the DROIDS animated series.

We’ll also see Rebel bases and Imperial Star Destroyers. Actually, Kuato believes Imperials will be everywhere in the new show - undercover operatives, Imperial Officers of all makes and ambitions, and nearly all of them will be afraid of Darth Vader.

There will be several instances in which characters are related to, or progenitors of, other characters in both the STAR WARS film universe & the franchise’s “Expanded Universe” (or “Extended Universe” if you prefer). One such character is a straight-laced Rebel with the last name Naberre…Padme’s last name in the Prequels was Naberre. I was a little confused here, but I believe this guy is supposed to be in his 20s…which would (presumably) make him related to Padme in some way. One Rebel General evidently carries the last name Durron – his placement in the STAR WARS timeline likely makes him the father of a character named Kyp Durron, who appears in several STAR WARS EU novels. Also, Kuato insinuated we’ll come across ("at least") one Mandalorian bad-ass in the course of the series.

Kuato chuckled manically about the following…he sounded like Clint Howard at the end of “The Corbomite Maneuver”. He laughed so hard he could hardly talk (this made Harry’s belly jiggle in disquieting ways). Seems one character is spun off from (or may be the same character as?) Lucas’ own cameo in REVENGE OF THE SITH’s Coruscant Opera House sequence. Lucas’s character in that cameo (he had no dialogue) was called Barron Papanoida. The series brings us…General Papanoida.

Hmmmmm….

Which brought Kuato to what most fans are really curious about: which FILM characters, if any, will make their ways into the series? He said there are several, among them are the prominently featured Bib Fortuna (Jabba’s right-hand man) and Oola the dancing girl (the green babe who was jettisoned from Jabba’s court to become a Rancor munchie). Kuato said the series will also involve the ever coveted, always inconvenient, vitally critical Death Star plans - although he did not indicate to what extent they’d be featured.

Kuato quickly became sleepy, but before he nodded off completely he told me that one significant way the series will be different from the movies is in how its character react to what is happening around them. He says the series will be less “good guy/ bad guy” in nature & offer far more insight into what makes characters tick, why they feel what they feel, where they’re coming from, and so forth. This will be true for good guys and bad guys alike. I’m gathering this means the series may be more nuanced & emotionally accessible than the theatrical films often were (I’m specifically referring to the Prequels with this comment). I have heard, independently of Kuato, that this does NOT mean action and fun are being viewed as expendable here. In fact, I’m told the overall tone of the show is rather close to the adventurous nature of EPISODEs IV, V, and VI…just a little edgier.

And off went poor Kuato, back to his scuzzy hidey-hole in Harry’s mighty belly…whispering…murmuring…snippets here and there...info crumbs, really…something about Boba Fett…should be in his 20s in this series…angsty…disenfranchised…and simmering…

There was more…difficult to interpret at best. Perhaps in time...perhaps.
