I've been pretty skinny all my life. Although now I've noticed I have a pot belly ugh; it doesn't stand out when I wear clothes, so it's not an image problem. But I'd rather be a more built chest.
Anyone work out? If so, what's something I can start doing, like a first step?

Well, do some running if you wanna get rid of the potbelly, or just some cardio of some sort, like stationary bike, I guess.
Seriously, I don't know what to tell you in terms of a "first-step." Maybe look in some of those workout threads over at GAF? I don't see why you just can't go to the gym and do some free weight exercises. Do you anything at all about working out? Fuck, I can't give advice.

Sometimes. Like tonight I had a baked potatoe, rice, mixed veggies, and some breaded chicken.

I just dont eat more than 90g of carbs a day if I can help it, that and drink tons of water. It does enough.

Pick an activity that you think you'll still be doing a couple months from now and don't overdo it at first or you can burn out easily. Hopefully after a while it becomes routine and isn't an effort to make yourself do every time. I've tried running a few times and would never last past a month or two because I really hated it. The best solution for me turned out to be a recumbent Schwinn stationary bike that I keep in my room. I can bike 3-4 times a week for 40 minutes at fairly high intensity, listen to really loud music, and have a big fan pointed straight at me.

Well don't encourage PD to be such a lazyass. Sure, you actually do shit. He just goes to class and doesn't study and sits on his computer and plays some videogames. I'm sure he has some free time to do some exercising.

Yea, when I do cardio, it's usually stationary bike. But I suggested running because some people like that shit. I have no clue why.

I know you're 100% right, but I probably won't act on it, at least not this semester. I've always been a pretty laid back guy, and I prefer keeping my own company. I've got friends off campus obviously. I'll start going to the cafeteria more often, since a lot of people are there; last time I went I saw like two people I knew.

Why dont you just make friends with the people in your classes? You obviously have some similar tastes, atleast academically.

Usually I eat pretty healthy, but I have a hard time cooking for myself, so lately I've been eating a shit ton of junk food. Once I move back in with my man I'm sure I'll cook some healthy meals again :heart

I do cardio in the morning, weights in the evening but I am a recovering fatty so I have to.
Get yourself a set of dumbbells, start with those.

PD, you need to bulk up before you think about working out. I had the pleasure of being chunky when I started working out (but I also had to incorporate Cardio into my regimen).
Eat lots of eggs and meats (don't go overboard though) to gain a little more weight. Then do some simple bench presses, crunches and curls (the basics). Nothing fancy.

Cardio is overrated unless you're doing it for, you know, the cardio benefits. In terms of calories burned/time you're frankly better off just eating less. But if you're old (like me) and have a desk job (also like me) there are health benefits outside of weight management you should be concerned with.
A lot of men gain/retain weight in their stomach, it's just the normal fat-distribution pattern for males. Commonly that means you'll gain weight there first and lose it there last. But if you're generally a skinny person but have a big belly it could be helped by a number of non-diet/weightloss-related things, like dumping carbs/losing water, or by working on your posture, or by working on gaining muscle for an overall more proportional build.

I do cardio almost everyday (I go running with my dog). I do yoga and weight traning about 2-3 times a week.

I drink 2-3 liters of water a day and eat 90g of carbs or less, MOST days. I do falter a few days. That keeps me at 165-170 which is fine.

I walk to school, which is good exercise; on Tues. and Thurs. I have about a 10-15min walk

You walk more than I do now lol. When I worked retail I walked more than anyone I knew tho, wore shoes down so fast.

I speed walk/jog every morning at 6 am. It gives me energy to do the day and it keeps me feeling fresh.

I shower every morning and usually before bed, it keeps me feeling fresh. For energy I drink lots of coffee. No time to speedwalk tho. Up at 6:20, on the road for a good hour. Not gonna speedwalk at night, thats asking for an accident lol.

Ive gota bigger body type then most. Ive actually lost about 5-6 kilo from a month ago from walking/jogging everywhere, going to the gym and not eating shit. I aim to get down to 88-90 kilo, or just build a bit more muscle and id say it would be fine.. just in time for summer.
