The arrows are pretty great. I wanna get to the action, and the arrows are taking me there. I think people just dont give this game a chance. Theyre all stuck in their mindset of 'oohh GRR I want a AAA game, I dont have time for anything less than a 60/100.'.

I dunno guyz. Sounds like a personal problem. Game on.

I just looked up some Uncharted screens. Third person? *pshaw* FIRST person is what throws you into the game. Third person is just some excuse for block puzzles crappy jumping sequences and bad aiming and bad barrel explosions. First Person? Youre there. You are so fucking there you need arrows to tell you where you need to go next because youre so intense after laying waste to a room of baddies. Third person you get bored and look for a way out. No need for arrows.

Bullshit.  No one who played PDZ would make fun of third person camera perspective when it is used so much in the game.  The rolls, the cover system, that shit.

I was playing the game where I was some white woman, then there was some black woman next to me, then I was rolling around in third person before using the ineffective cover system which showed the white woman wearing a winter sweater to imply it was cold, yet still felt the need to show off her belly.  I know this, because it was in third person.

oh there's multiple people that have done this? I was referring to the game that made like a robot arm to start a multi match, quit, restart to get the 2000 match achievement or whatever.

Oh, I didnt know there was one for PDZ - someone made a program that can read the screen while playing Bejeweled and do Endless Mode for you automatically

PDZ wasn't about encounter enemies and killing them.  Your main gun had a silencer so you could kill people without alerting anyone else.  You could even disarm one enemy, then beat the shit out of him with his own gun.  Well, at least in one level.  Most of the levels are awful.  The jungle level makes me want to vomit on the dev team.  However, the second level (the nightclub) was alright.  Actually, that was the only decent level.  The last boss is the worst thing ever.  It makes me wish it was a pattern then QTE sequence.  Aiming was also awful.  Just the idea of zooming into with any scope weapon also failed to work.  The idea that you had to only slightly press the left trigger to hold it was horrible.  The vehicles both sucked.  Somehow they managed to fuck up a jetpack AND hovercraft.  Everything about the game was ugly, in typical Rare style, but the audio and everything else was also shit.  I just made the realization that unless you are playing the second level, which is at least decent, or multiplayer after sustaining a conclusion, the game really is terrible.  Still, that second level had potential to be great if an entire game was based around it.  Also, I guess the idea that handguns were an effective way of killing someone was pretty cool since that doesn't normally happen in Third Person Shooters.

yeah, playing that second level i felt like that style of shooter could still be a lot of fun -- if the design, aesthetics, and quality control weren't abysmal. i gave up on the game shortly thereafter. thinking back to some of the garbage i've enjoyed at the beginnings of new console generations, pd zero must have been PRETTY FUCKING BAD to lose my attention

I also have a high tolerance level for shitty launch games.  I bought played through at least half of Red Steel.  I tried playing it a few weeks ago and couldn't last more than 5 minutes.  That game is awful.

+Multiplayer.  Has a learning curve cause it feels like you run at an odd speed but once you get used to the sensitivity and the game modes, it's really fucking fun.
+Nearly all the weapons were satisfying.  Plus most of them had an actually useful secondary function.
+The graphics were amazing for a launch game.
+A lot of the campaign was actually fun.  I actually hated it the first time I played the first mission but it gets a lot better when you learn how to get through the stealth areas quickly and when you get the heavier weapons during the run 'n gun parts.
*The gameplay feels a lot different than any other FPS.  If you are willing to play until you learn how to adjust your aim and take cover right, it gets really fun but it'll suck otherwise.
-The actual objectives of most of your missions are confusing.  You'll probably run around aimlessly even with the arrows (I stopped trusting them after the second mission).
-Weird "exploding armor" death animations.

Eh, I enjoyed playing co-op and the multiplayer did the job before the better titles came along.  It's an okay game...I kept it.

One of my biggest problems with the actual gameplay was the long death animations when you're shooting people. You keep shooting them when they're in this long death animation thinking they're not dead when you could have started on the next dude who's shooting you.

From a purely gameplay perspective, the game is one of the best on consoles. With auto-aiming turned off, the game truly shines. It takes awhile to get used to, but after some practice you will be landing headshots and it will be extremely rewarding. It is one of the few console FPSes that rewards the player for skill and there is very little randomness in deciding battles, so it doesn't feel cheap. If anyone wants some PDZ online action, send me a friend request.

let me know if you ever want to play co-op.  i got the game but it's hard to find a co-op game online

the single-player is fantastic.  it can be very stealthy and somewhat open-ended in approach.  the multi-player is well done... tons of badass weapons with secondary and tertiary fire, 32 players, vehicles, etc.

I love it, despite people hating it. I got around 900 points of the achievements and it was godly amazing. Rare is doing a great job IMO. This, Kameo and VP were my best experiences on the 360.

I thought my 615 points in the game were impressive, but you are my hero. The achievements in that game, especially the campaign ones on higher difficulties are ungodly difficult.

Yeah, you need to totally fill enemies with lead until they die.  It is even more stupid in multiplayer when shooting someone leaves a trail of body armor on the ground.  I still want Rare to make a new Perfect Dark game, because the second level had a lot of potential to be a really cool game.  The weapons are also a bit cool also, almost like Resistance, except with less function to them.

Co-op is actually one thing that turned out cool in PDZ.  Instead of Halo, which is basically the old Double Dragon approach by having another character going through the same stuff over and over, it has the two players going on different paths in the same level.  Like, in one of the levels, player one is up on a building and has to sniper enemies for player 2 to go by.  That stuff is really interesting.

Piece of shit game from a shitty developer is shit. The tripe looks like it was designed without an art director on staff, and Rare should be embarrassed to have ever released this pathetic spit of bile. The multi was sort of amusing and at least had a good player count, but that hardly excuses it for featuring one of the worst campaigns with some of the most idiotic combat and for being one of the most obnoxiously hideous games of this generation. I'd say it's comical, but dropping $50 on it sort of dampens the chuckle.

This really should have enjoyed a Haze-type reception.

SP achievements were crazy as hell, my ass got handled a lot in this game but I also was having fun. I don't think I'll ever do something like this again, I did it just because I was new to all the stuff about achievements so this was REAAALLY tempting. And I was off videogames for about 2 years so when I picked up the console I was like "ok I'm ready to kick some ass" :D Good ol' times.

And yeah, I want a new shooter from Rare :'(

I remember now, you get into the club by activating the fire alarm.  Had fuck-all for story but the gameplay itself was solid in that game.  One of the only FPS' with a long learning curve for the shooting part though.  I can see how that with the crap-shit story can get annoying.

the visuals are pretty meh and there is a lot of tearing, kameo is waaaaay better (which reminds me, i should beat it someday) and the gameplay is pretty slow.

would have been better if it was as fast as say, halo 3.

If Halo is the benchmark for a fast FPS game, I think you need to play more shooters.  Halo games are annoyingly slow.
