Game list propagation has been horrendous for as long as I can remember.
I hope the game installs really do make a difference. Fable 2's loading is starting to get on my nerves.
Apparently, it doesn't.QuoteI began installing Fable II at 10:14pm and it finished by 10:25pm. I'm not sure that the game loaded any faster—maybe you could catch it with a stopwatch, but I couldn’t with casual observation.
But I did notice that Fable’s auto-guidance system reacted more quickly to my directional changes. Pop-ins may have been a little improved as well, though I was able to duplicate a few problems I experienced with the disc in.
The biggest benefit was that the DVD didn’t spin nonstop. In fact, it didn’t spin at all. Since my test 360 has gone through two optical drives already, I was happy to have the option to lessen the wear and tear on my 360.

How is 16:10 going to work? I'm assuming that's just for the dash and not games.
I really don't like the new friends list.
I'd use the HDD feature to run the one game I was focused on at the time (example being Fallout 3 for now)
Fallout 3
I was originally pretty happy with how quickly the game loaded up, and while 48 seconds doesn’t exactly set any land-speed records, it beats some of the other loading times out there. After waiting 8 minutes and 37 seconds for the 5.9 GBs worth of files to install, I gave it another shot. The second time around, times were cut to an even better 25 seconds from the dashboard menu to the action. I also timed the loading times for transitioning between inside and outside game environments. Before installing the game, these transitions took about 20 seconds; afterward, it was halved. If you’re planning on spending a serious amount of time with the game, that time savings is going to stack up over time.
So I own a 1440x900 monitor, but don't know a whole lot about scaling. What will look better-- running upscaled at 1440x900 or at the game's native 1280x720?upscaled since it won't be stretched (maintaining aspect ratio) unless you hate letterboxing.
So install to hard drive doesn't cut down on load times at all, well, maybe a little. I'll do it because its quieter and I won't get DRMs, but otherwise, what's the point? From what I understand, the older 360 games will benefit most. It seems to vary depending on how game data was organized and how well optimized the title originally was. Something like PGR3, for instance, should hopefully benefit greatly. My first trial will have to be Sonic 06. Seriously. The game blows, but it will be a great test for the system.
I refuse to buy a Jasper 360 because it will turn orange and start hollering about 23 years and singing rocky top.
Do you think it'll help with the UE3 texture load issues?Seems very possible.
Now, if you install a game. Will it run off the HDD by default, or do you have to go to the game list and choose run off HDD every time?http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=13443012&postcount=331
There is an option in NXE to disable autoplay upon inserting disc, very cool.Very Nice.
Here it is

Someone want to take the risk? I dont think you will get banned for it.

I have it,it works perfectly.Tested Mass Effect, load times are quicker,pop-up loads quicker, framerate is more stable when you rotate camera quickly or run(tested on citadel). But the most amazing thing is that 360 is quiet.
some gaffers were saying crackdown can't be installed or some shit.
and pgr4 audio gets shitty when installed.
so is there some sort of copy protection or some shit? I mean could I go out and rent some games and install them for as long as I need them?
It sounds like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfyX3DJbQ9Y. It's not really loud or anything, but it bugs me and makes me thing I got a bad hard drive.
i'm stupid, forgot you have to redownload all DLC, so I can't play any of my RB DLC until the 19th :lol

haha, I don't get access to any of my RB1 content OR my RB2 dlc...
which makes me just remember...since I just got a new HD do I have to Re-export my RB1 songs (which will suck because I don't have the game anymore) or will they show up once I'm online?
Installing NXE was a fucking mistake, damn do I miss my RB dlc.
using party chat mutes the games chat, so you cant hear teammates or enemies at all while in party chat
I have yet to see an avatar that isn't hideous (no offense to the people who they are based after).
"Avatars aren't so bad afterall..."Does he turn you on?

In J-Land the 60gb HD is about $100 U.S. and the 120gb HD is $150.

Well for what its worth; the HDD installation is pretty quick and the Netflix streaming is awesome. I'm on a dirty poor 27" SDTV so the quality of the Netflix streams look comparable to a DVD on my TV. I'm extremely happy with this new feature.
