I'm hoping:
McCain returns to the middle (likely)
McCain gets sane economic advisers (I hope)
Palin is pushed to a corner (unlikely if he does win it will be seen because of Palin)
Less protectionism (this by all indications would be likely to happen- bad for America, good for the world)
Environmental issue get delayed till China and other countries come aboard (good thing imo)
A McCain presidency would not be that bad perhaps not as 'revolutionary' as Obama but maybe from an outsider's point of view that's a good thing.
-
I shudder at the thought. But, seriously, I don't think this country would be better with McCain as President.
-
his economic policy would be typical deregulation shit, he would start a war with Iran, he wouldn't do a god-damned thing for the middle class, and like Bush he'd continually find ways to shock and disgust us. he would be a horrible president.
-

Do you really think so? She's SO out there that it seems like a lot of people are going away from McCain because they're just afraid of her.
-
I used to think he'd at least be better than Bush...
...eh, I think he'd be worse
-
If Sarah Palin becomes our vice president, it will confirm that there is a gas leak in my apartment.
-
I'd see her side spin it as getting her just political reward regardless. I also think there won't be another black candiate for 20 years or so.
-
McCain isnt ULTIMATELY the problem with a McCain presidency
-
Granted I'm not an incredibly informed voter, but I don't think McCain would be that bad. I just can't stand the idea of Palin being president ever.
-
Well, you are only as good as your cabinet. Judging on some of McCain's choices of who he surrounds himself with, I don't have much confidence in his Presidency.
-
McCain doesn't bother me as much as the idea of republicans being in power again.

I'm with the Republican!

- Under the guidance of Phil "Mr. Enron" Gramm, the new budget will hack away at all the social programs available. At first, he will say that most people will be able to still get their benefits and that the media is exaggerating but the reality is that very few will can get those benefits. Towards the end of the year, the scant budget set aside for several social programs will run out and will lay off all the employees in those respective departments. The few fortunate programs to remain will be sold to corporations where their budgets will be bloated and provide almost nothing to the people.
- To curb energy costs, all utilities will be deregulated, putting hundreds of millions of people at the mercy of energy interests, driving up prices when people need it the most and destroying the environment. When faced with the surge of millions of people unable to pay their utility bills, McCain will suggest that the media is exaggerating the situation. Gramm and the Secretary of Energy will snidely remark that poor people have too many luxury goods and their power usage for those luxuries are the reason why costs get out of hand. Several 2000-2001 California situations will occur throughout the country, causing the National Guard to step in to hold people back and crack down on any potential rioting.
- Taking advice from Special Adviser Henry Kissinger, discreet bombing runs of Syria and Iran will take place. When questioned, McCain will blame the liberal media who is clearly butthurt about the Obama loss. Palin will step in and suggest all Democrats are Ahmadinejad fanatics and that they have no clue what is actually going on there. Palin gets cheers from the crowd when at the same moment, 1500 people are killed in a bombing run along the Iran-Iraq border.
- To curb the budget, cuts will be made not only to all social programs but also to all research. McCain will suggest that the research projects are financial drains and not necessary in this dire economy. Palin will stump for the plan, stating all scientific research is a joke. The overall fiscal budget will be reduced but still allowing for creation of more defense contracts, heavily padded of course as well as an overall increase of subsidies to businesses. No plan to get a balanced budget in sight.

I see McCain as doing anything to win which explains his blatant appeal to the base but as president I'm not sure he'd be the same.

This is what I see if McCain wins:

I will move from this place. :'(

i wouldve agreed with the 'saner advisores' and 'going to the middle' before, but now i really dont know
mccain has proven he will let others control him. i really wonder if he will be a more controllable puppet than bush ever was. [hint: bush sucked for that reason]
-
Palin needs to prove she will let others control her, which she cannot prove, running around avoiding her handlers and recruiting air-headed celebs as yes-men
-
That YouTube piece was good. I love that Phillip Glass number from way back in the day, but seeing those poor kids dead or dying... for fuck's sake, how the hell can people be so blasé about marching off to war?
-
If McCain wins, he will probably die during his four years. Millions of Americans will make a mass exodus to Canada in fear of a country run by Sarah Palin.
