Title: Palin: Abstinence for all teens 'not realistic'
Post by: Ganhyun on February 17, 2009, 02:42:05 PM
Bristol Palin gives an interview. What do you guys(and gals) think?

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/17/bristol.palin.interview/index.html

Quote
Van Susteren was delicate with the teenager but pointedly asked if "contraception is an issue here."

"Is that something that you were just lazy about or not interested, or do you have philosophical or religious opposition to it," Van Susteren asked.

Bristol quickly answered that she didn't want to get into specifics. The best option is abstinence, the teen said, but added that she didn't think that was "realistic."

She was quick to get away from that one.

There is a clip of the interview in the article , but the whole thing is on Fox News so I doubt you guys will go seek it out there.

She is a high school drop out (as was her older brother!), why should I care about her opinion again?

From the article:

Quote
Her parents insisted that she and her boyfriend hash out a "game plan" immediately. And now her parents and relatives are all pitching in to help take care of the child, particularly when Bristol is at school during the day.

Maybe she started going to Junior College or something?

I think this whole interview is supposed to try to make Bristol an information source on teen pregnancy prevention. I guess.

Who the fuck cares about the Palin family at all?

CNN and Fox News?

Yeah, I'd really go to her for teen pregnancy advice.

Oh and, she thinks valued opinions from Hannity, OReilly, and Limbaugh should be taken much more seriously.  omg

If you didn't actually care, you wouldn't have clicked on this thread.

Palin's family--her separatist husband; her drop-out, druggie son; and her pregnant whore-daughter--were all very relevant just a few months ago and may be relevant again in three years.

I'll click on any thread, so that's hardly indicative of any care. And I sincerely doubt that this family will ever be "relevant" again, outside of this type of coverage. No matter what news media would have wanted people to believe, it's not like they were actually ever relevant to the political struggle, at least not beyond the torpedo potential of every skeleton that escaped the closet.

I had absolutely no problem abstaining through my teenage years (and 20s, modulo a couple of lapses), I don't know what's wrong with these other people.

Palins lack of respect of school annoyed me so much last year. She defended her son dropping out saying "it wasn't for him" and now the daughter dropped out. And the youngest skipped school for 3 months during the Election (Obama girls didn't miss a day).

It is shocking that an elected official can totally blow off our educational system and get no flack from her own side.

you again? Seriously dude. Is it your wet dream to try and "burn" me on the forum?

I suppose this time you are talking about my comment in the election time where I said I was of the opinion that Bristol should not be used in the political campaign and blog attacks on her mother?

And Eric. I already responded to your post about it. :)

A lot of Republicans aren't big fans of public education.

my comment was aimed more at the general "LEAVE BRISTOL ALONE" camp and while i get what they're doing, and even what they're trying to do and while it would be great to be able to have an honest discussion of teen pregnancy, i don't know if i trust the constantly disingenuous right-wing media to be lead that discussion.

Way to go Greta.  She now has the biggest balls of anyone on that joke news agency.

And the Palin daughters answer is great.

Q: Were you too dumb or too lazy to not use protection?

A:  Well I assumed I was a pure person, clearly not.

So allowing all her school-aged kids to leave school is better than public education for them?

Or education at all, hyuck hyuck

There we go.
