It would be a major blow on the grassroots level against anti-gay special interest groups *coughmormons* and may possibly make more Americans open-minded which (hopefully) could lead to actual gay "marriage" being allowed in most states.

Or the people in the magic underwear win and then this country will suck outside of a few states.
