Title: EVILBORE DECLARES WAR ON X-MAS!
Post by: drozmight on December 08, 2006, 09:33:21 AM
"Happy Holidays Evilbore!"

What is this tripe?! Bill will hear about this. I promise you all that much and possibly more (Limbaugh).

Actually, maybe you should further your disgrace, and change it to "Happy Holidaze, Evilbore." Follow that up with a picture of Chong smokin' a big fatty joint, laughing while surrounded by elvish whores drinking santa's beer.

Assholes.

That's actually not a bad idea, I will be the stoner smokin. I'll wear a Santa outfit.

Ok, so maybe some of the events in the Bible happened. Who cares? They don't mean anything. It's just fragments of a story translated a billion times over that's probably not even true to the original text. Not to mention there are so many parts missing.

There is no god and you're going to rot in the ground just like everyone else does when they die, PD. Well, that's if you get lucky and aren't blown up or something.

Ok Diablos.

There is no war on Christmas, at least not the one O'Reilly markets, but there have been many stupid attacks on it. Schools not allowing kids to preform Christmas carols? Fuck that >:(

In all honesty, only a small percentage of people actually see Christmas as a truly religious holiday. I say we just do away with the whole religious principle of the holiday, call it "exx mas", and make it the national day of giving and receiving presents. :)

Considering more than 65% of American citizens consider themselves to be Christian, I highly doubt that

And just what percent of these so-called Christians actually step foot in a church in or around Christmas eve? Face it: it used to be a religious holiday, now its just another day of extreme consumerism.

Many of them do. I think you're severely underestimating the numbers here.

But yes, Christmas today is just like Limus from Charlie Brown's Christmas described it: buy buy buy. Obviously some of that is rooted in the Christian aspect of the holiday; Jesus was a gift was God, the wise men gave him gifts, etc. But I certainly won't disagree that the true meaning of Christmas has been lost in the sea of consumerism lol

To most people it is, and religiously too. Jesus was not born on Christmas, or in the winter months, but this is the time of year it's celebrated by billions of people.

Also, many parts of the holiday are talked about in the Bible, but in different context...

Jeremiah 10: 2-5

10:2  Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

10:3  For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

10:4  They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

10:5  They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

Actually, Christmas was never about Jesus.

It was a Pagan holiday that the Christians tried to convert. Even though Jesus was definitely not born in the winter, the Pagan holiday always took place toward the end of the year.

Christians tried to take it over basically, and now with the rise of holiday sales, they are being pushed out again.

The date was taken from the festival of Sol Invictus... that's a Roman holiday that took place on the 25th of December, celebrating the sun god.

Christians made it to celebrate the Son of God....

I SEE WHAT THEY DID THERE!

P.S.: I learned this in CHURCH. I'm not lying. Whenever they tried to teach us that Halloween was evil, they told us that it was and was always a Pagan holiday, as well as the other two that the Christians adopted. The other one outside of that is EASTER.

That's right, the day that Christians celebrate Jesus dying and resurrecting for our sins is actually a PAGAN HOLIDAY.

Yup; did you see my earlier post with the verses on this?

Jesus' birth was celebrated for a long time, but at some point that celebration was mixed with many of the pagan rituals preformed for the sun god Baal (or Mithra if you want to be anal).

Easter? Yeah. The name, as well as the symbolism of the easter bunny is mentioned in the Bible. This is another holiday that was seperately celebrated by Christians but at one point was mixed with pagan symbolism.

Every day of the fucking week is named after a pagan god :lol
