I agree, shit like Wonder Showzen and Tim and Eric don't belong on there, and the total lack of It's Always Sunny is a travesty. I'd also include Chuck.
I think Wonder Showzen deserves to be on there.

Chuck? Ban willcoChuck is good escapist television.
Peep Show is also noticably missing.This.
Although any list with two Josh Whedon shows isn't worth shit.

Yeah, neither Firefly nor Buffy of the 00s belongs on the list.
Except it isn't funny, and hence why comedies and dramas can't really be compared.
And where the hell is Twin Peaks?
Chuck is awesome, and is easily better than Wonder Showzen.
I still don't get the love for Breaking Bad (cue SC). I thought the show was awful.

Chuck is the same episode repeated for two full seasons.
Sopranos above Arrested Development? :yuck
The Office US above The Office UK? :yuck
Where's 24, smh
Where's 24, smh:teehee
Why is "How I Met Your Mother" on this list.
WHERE IS METAL GEAR SOLID 4: GUNS OF TEH PATRIOTS
:maf
Because it's awesome, unlike Chuck.
Seriously, Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Harris are great on it.

Show sucks and it's been running on fumes for years now. Neil Patrick Harris is the only likable character.
Nah, terrible character. Everyone else in the show carries Chuck's whiny ass. i feel the same about Burn Notice that I do Chuck, good, but not great with better side characters than the main one. Dexter and House get a pass for the formulaic nature of their shows because the main characters are so awesome.

24 sucks, dude.
West Wing should be higher

There are a lot of people that don't like Curb Your Enthusiasm at all, mind you, and for good reason. It is very much a show for a select group of people.

Curb is awesome, how can anyone not like it?

It's funny, but I can barely get through an episode before I want to kill everyone in the cast.
people tend to say "white" and "jewish" as separate groups fyi.
I totally get that that's what David is trying to do, but the whole self-importance thing is just too much for me.

Depends on what episodes you watch though. In earlier ones his character is just completely oblivious to social etiquette, so he gets shit despite the fact that the majority of what he does is logical. In some of the episodes in the later seasons he's just being a straight up prick.

waspy jew? now i'm super confused. :lolexactly

it's definitely a show for neurotic, over-analytical introverts, because it's basically our lives with only mild exaggeragation.
The freaks and geeks chick is pretty hot.(http://somewhatmanlynerd.com/pics/vlcsnap-5988047.jpg)
Halfway through the season, I absolutely adored it. The second half I didn't enjoy nearly as much, for whatever reason.
Isn't that typical for that age group though?
Are you referring to how the freaks, most of whom were in a rock band, randomly changed their musical tastes? I would say it's not, especially when their music is part of their in-group identity and they all moved to dying or dead musical genres.Isn't that typical for that age group though?
That's kinda how I thought of it.
The D&D part of the show was pretty accurate for a High school Role Playing session.

What's-his-name got into disco to impress a girl while also try to make Lindsay jealous. That's a totally plausible course of action for a teenager.
The dead head thing was pretty dumb though I will admit.
Buffy's best years were in the 90s, not the aughts. In hindsight, I feel comfortable in saying that the show got really lame once she went to college.

I think while the average/overall quality was definitely higher in the early seasons, much of the really interesting stuff came in the later years (and I don't just mean the handful of famous high concept Whedon episodes) and the show as a whole as a phenomenon or whatever would've been a lot less interesting without the later years.

I think what we can all agree on is that this was the best decade for television programming since ever.
This is probably one of the few "lists" where I've seen and am familiar with 90-95% of the content.Did you ever finish The Wire?
I can't really abide seeing The Wire at #1 though. I would easily rate Deadwood, The Shield, and Mad Men well above it -- and Sopranos too if we are allowed to count the first few seasons that were produced in the 90's.
I'd put AD at number one.
The list is also missing House.
Did you ever finish The Wire?

Did you ever finish The Wire?
Watching Season 5 Episode 6 right now actually :) I'm liking it a good deal more than S4 really. The subplots aren't completely out of control, and all the major players are back in action in a substantial way except for Daniels sadly. I still don't really care for Marlowe, and Omar continues to feel a bit tacked on.
I dunno; I think S5 fell a little flat (although the finale is practically flawless), but I don't want to say too much if you're only halfway through. S4 was clearly not planned from the beginning of the series, but I thought that they did a great job, all things considered. Marlo is totally dull, though, I agree.Did you ever finish The Wire?

Yeah, House is the most mind-blowing omission.Fuck House and his whiny brand of misanthropy
Why is "How I Met Your Mother" on this list.
Seconded.
Also, I'd have the Venture Brothers higher. I'd put the two-part S1 finale and S2 up against any stretch of any other show.
Entourage is awesome, the fuck is wrong with you guys?
I laugh my ass off at the comedic moments and have gotten teary-eyed on a few occasions during the dramatic moments. Agree to disagree I guess.
Futurama is overrated.
