While incredibly ~uguu, Little King's Story is a pretty awesome game. The closest comparison I can make is Pikmin but with a better story mode and deeper strategy elements.

You're not missing too much with Lost Winds. I bought into the GAF hype and totally regret it... very slow-paced, mostly easy platformer with confusing level layouts and no maps. Nice new-agey soundtrack tho.
