Why would I be joking? I'm a Smash Brothers fanatic, played the shit out of Mario Galaxy and RE4, then got pulled back in to Zelda: TP. There were too many games that distracted me, so I sold it to a relative. As for exercising self control, I tried but saw no other option at the time.

I don't download games that I don't like. I download them first and then hate on them if they're bad. I wouldn't have bought 95% of the games I've pirated anyway.
A lot of my Ps3 games are multiplatform games that I could've pirated on X360 instead. But I just bought them.
And we don't have a rental service here, so pirating games and testing them out is a better solution than buying and testing.

I only buy the good games anyway.

Reasons for running off USB (wii) -

- shorter load times (most notable in games like House of the Dead where stutter is prevalent)
- no need to juggle discs, all in one spot (think XBLA)
- no strain on laser, longer shelf life
- easy to archive/back up
- can rip directly from disc, saving your disc life

You can still play online with it, you can even use cheats with it.
