Grayson ends up a drunken pirate ten years later, with his only friend being a cyborg named Ishi Sato. Roaming through the galaxy, he bumps into the ship of General Serrano, where he rams it and both his and Serrano’s ship go hurdling towards the planet Stygia. That’s where one of the game’s first long (20 minute) cutscenes kick in and the prologue ends. Many of the cutscenes actually show Grayson, who’s not very politically accurate in his speech, rather than give players a first-person view
Are those Gears assets?
Could get very repetitive.

Electronic Arts and Microsoft have teamed up to announce the “Epic Edition” of Bulletstorm, exclusively for Xbox 360, which includes guaranteed early access to the Gears of War 3 beta.
“Epic is poised to break new ground in 2011 with Gears of War 3 and Bulletstorm,” said Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games. “With these two highly anticipated triple-A experiences comes a unique opportunity to do something to really excite players, and that’s what we intend to accomplish with the support of Microsoft Game Studios and EA. This is for the shooter fans.”
*The “Epic Edition”, which will retail at $59.99, includes early access to the Gears of War 3 beta and more. It’ll give players 25,000 additional experience points when playing online and visual upgrades for their leash, Peace Maker Carbine, boots and armor.
For the same price as the game would go for without the extra content, why the heck wouldn’t you buy the “Epic Edition”?
I can't fucking wait for this game. It's like Painkiller and Gears had a baby. BONER AT MAXIMUM STRENGTH.At the very least, it doesn't appear to take its overblown machismo seriously, which is one of the things I dislike about GoW.
So the competitive multi is just Leaderboards in Echo mode?
So the competitive multi is just Leaderboards in Echo mode?
Yes.
There is no competitive multi in the sense of killing other players in tdm or objective modes from what I understand.

That being said, I'm sure there will be deathmatch in the future through dlc, etc.
Wow, I didn't bother with this thread because of the title, but this looks way better than Gears. Hype +1
Those will be the most desolate, deserted multiplayer servers known to man, except perhaps for those of the recent Soldier of Fortune game.
Edit: I just remembered it comes with the Gears 3 beta. Massive sales success confirmed.
That was fine but goddamn has all the marketing for this been completely terrible. I have a feeling this is going to do way below expectations.

They were giving out free hamburgers at E3. I refuse to pay fucking $8 for a hot dog at the LA Convention Center so I consider that part to be brilliance
Played a little bit, looks a bit adolescent power-trippy but whatever. It just kind of dumps you in without much instruction on how to use the whippy thing. Will spend some more time with it tonight after work.
I can't take Steve Blum as the lead VA. All I'm going to be thinking of is "Dwarven crafts!" and Spike Spiegel.
That vid looks sick. First Person Gears?
It'll probably be a GWL game though.
Demo seemed interesting, but no way i'm playing a fps on a leper gamepad. Is there a pc version?
I'm renting the shit out of this
just gonna get it out on a Friday or something and play it all night, I'm not expecting the campaign to be too lenghty
they actually, for once, came through for me this time
But the dirty little secret of me buying games nowadays is that unless a game is an rpg, or a big GTA RDR style game, or has an MP element I will playing for months afterwards, I don't buy $60 dollar games. I'll wait for a price drop or buy it used or just rent it.

i have been sharing this secret with you for a while now
the only time i break is when i can combo discount through amazon credits or somesuch, like i did with lbp2 and dead space 2 (averaged out to $43 each, and i still sort of regretted paying that much, nothing in either game that i wouldn't have enjoyed just as much six months later for $20-25)
Got up to Act 6 last night. Not much left and will probably finish it tonight.
The game is endearing. And the campaign is a very nice roller-coaster. The important part is that even if you aren't really that into the whole do the trick shot stuff its still really fun. I honestly don't really play it at a high kill shot level but even doing it just enough to power up the weapons and buy ammo is enough for me to find it fun. The base mechanics are strong enough that its fun to do even if you aren't a master at the game or anything.
And the dumbness. It's so omni-present and over the top that its actually charming the more you play. I've definitely enjoyed the game, the more I've played.
We should play some MP together.
EA and Epic Games have announced paid for downloadable content.
The Gun Sonata pack includes three new maps for the game's Anarchy mode and two new maps for the Echo mode.
There are also two new Leash enhancements, the Flamingo and the Pulp.
The pack, due out in the spring, costs 800 Microsoft Points (£6.85) or $9.99 / £7.99 on PlayStation 3. No mention was made of the PC version.
Beat it on very hard last night. Had none of the issues all of you seemed to have. Checkpointing seemed fine. Only had trouble in the spaceport in the room with 3 bosses and a shitload of guys.
