"and then he wasted his entire life on imaginary awards!"
I hope this gen doesn't end for at least two more years. There's still so much left to unlock as far as the hardware in these consoles.
I wasnt specifically talking about Consoles only... my point is gaming is and always will be good. If you just now think it is, you obviously had a rough spot in your life at that time that was completely unrelated to gaming. No job, no girlfriend (LOL), dead mom...

PS1 was a gold mine, bro, you missed out.

Actually a lot of the big PS1 titles were available on the PC, relatively quickly, like FF7 & 8, MGS1 and all the RE games. They were alright but still quite primitive compared to PC 3D games.
The only genre lacking on the PC during the PS1 era was fighters, which was still pretty big. PC had VF1 & 2 but I was a dumb kid back then and preferred the flashier Tekkens.
hey let's watch these shitty unskippable cutscenes with a shitton of loading in betwen, then force you to deal with all kinds of shitty rpg elements in games that didn't need them just cuz it was the popular thing to do at the time
Dude really, have you been paying attention this generation.

nope, i've barely had money or time to play that much
N64>>>PS1.
Quality>>>Quantity.
But the PS1 had quality and quantity.
But the PS1 had quality and quantity. It was a good system, I admit. But about 60% of its best games haven't aged well, and the N64's best were definitely better than the PS1's.
psx is my favorite system.
It had a wealth of experimental and just plain WHACKY games that were crafted in a very interesting time in gaming history.
Nintendo 64 has nothing nearly as unique as Intelligent Qube, and that's just a highly touted mainstream title. Going through the psx library reveals my favorite game library in gaming history.

Incredible Crisis :rock
In terms of power? Who gives a fuck.
In terms of power? Who gives a fuck.
Gamers playing the PS1 games with the shitty ~10 FPS framerates and nasty swimming textures.

Not like the other 2 systems were all that much better.

I agree wholeheartedly. My only gripe is that I don't have the money to buy everything I want to play. There is just too much awesome.
Himu, remember the PSX version of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, where both players had to choose the same two characters to be able to switch them out at will because the PSX didn't have enough RAM to store more than two characters at the same time? Not to mention all the frames that got cut out of the game.
PSX was awwwwful at 2D.

:bow gaming
PS1 and N64 both look like crap nowadays.

You'd think otherwise playing Perfect Dark at 1680X1050 with 8x AA, triple-buffer Vsync, 16x anisotropic filtering, Super2xSal textures, and texture filtering all at 60 frames per second. :smug
i have no idea about saturn and his games but judging it being a sega console i bet they are all terrible :smugspoiler (click to show/hide)in before panzer dragoon saga[close]

:rofl
I tried playing a bunch of N64 'hits' lately.... :-\
THEY ROCK! :rock
I want a Saturn so bad though, its the only worthwhile console I never played. And I call myself an old school Sega fanboy.
Hey Ichi I'll buy yours for 200$
N64 is only good for Mischief Makers, F-Zero X and Sin & Punishment. Maybe Banjo games.
It really has a doodoo library in comparison to PS1

Panzer Dragoon Saga aside, essential Saturn titles are Dragon Force, Guardian Heroes, Shining Force III, and Marvel Super Heroes.

You forgot Diddy Kong Racing. :wag
