Expected and fantastic news for the company.
Fuuuuuu I should really pick it up. :'(Expected and fantastic news for the company.
I completely agree.
The last Ratchet was an awesome game, if you're an Xbox 360-only gamer then you're in for some good stuff :D
Edit: wait a minute I just realized they didn't mention the Wii

Flip a coin, do we want average shooter or average platformer
Multi console owners should be pissed at this. I own both consoles so that I can play DIFFERENT games. I would much rather have 1 definitive version of the game that uses the PS3 to its potential and I don't want a shitty 360 version fucking that up.

So what? Suddenly Ratchet is good? Get real.
Resistance was not average.
It was terrible.
Naughty Dog will follow...in few years, things change quickly
One day it will be...holy shit, all these years and we own shit...
So?
MS owned Bungie also
What?
liscenced :lol
MS acquired Bungie in 2000,they became part of MGS
Anyway if people from Naughty Dog decide to leave,Sony will have two choices:
1.MS-Bungie solution
2.Activision-Infinity Ward solution
What?

They acquired Bungie, they didn't own Bungie. Sony created Naughty Dog. Therefore the Naughty Dog logo, and name are property of Sony.
Founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin in 1986 as an independent developer, the studio was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001.

But Sony OWNS the Naughty Dog name and trademark, wheres Microsoft didn't own the Bungie name.
I had more fun with Jak II than with Mario Sunshine. Not saying much, though.

Welp, that about does it for the PS3.
Ratchet and Resistance are stuck with Sony though right? I'd like to see them do something original.

Their multiplatform game will be a new IP. Based on their statement, I'm assuming they'll continue making exclusives for Sony (Resistance and Ratchet) in addition to this new IP that EA is publishing.
naughty dog made jak 2Y'know, I desperately wanted to like Jak 2, but just could not get past the swimmy aircars bonking into cops and making my life hell every time I was trying to get to a mission icon.
biggest turd ever

Well the driving sucked like he said. And the problem with the Jak 2 platforming was the checkpoints, I recall. There was a mission where it started with a turret stage, went to a 2D platformer-like stage along a wall, and then an action shooting stage in a wide yard populated with bad guys. I think it took me 3 or 4 tries to get past each stage, and death meant restarting over at the beginning of the mission, not the stage. By the time I finished the yard, I had probably gone from struggling through the first turret stage to going through it by rote; it had become a chore, which no game should ever become.
I never really cared for the shooting. The best thing about the game was probably its platforming and camera.
