Expected and fantastic news for the company.

I completely agree.

The last Ratchet was an awesome game, if you're an Xbox 360-only gamer then you're in for some good stuff  :D

Edit: wait a minute I just realized they didn't mention the Wii

Fuuuuuu I should really pick it up. :'(

Yeah, the last Ratchet was great and the best thing they've done in ages.  If they can keep their game at that quality, everyone is in for a treat with their new multiplatform IP.

A Crack in Time is not an average platformer.
Even Segata was singing praises about it recently and he is about as far removed from a sonybot as possible.

Multi console owners should be pissed at this. I own both consoles so that I can play DIFFERENT games. I would much rather have 1 definitive version of the game that uses the PS3 to its potential and I don't want a shitty 360 version fucking that up.

I really hope that the next generation of consoles are completely different from each other so that each console will have its own set of exclusives with only a hand full of multi platform titles. Like the 16/32 bit generations. The library between the SNES and Genesis were vastly different from each other as was the N64/PS1/Saturn. I hope that comes back.

Bungie wanted their independence from Microsoft due to Microsoft wanting to milk the Halo franchise dry.

So I don't see Naughty Dog going independent unless Sony screws them over in a major way.

Really, ND only made 2 AAA games in their whole career.

The only average ND game was Jax X.

The first three Crash games are excellent. CTR is beyond amazing and better than any Nintendo kart racer.
The first three Jak games are excellent.
The Uncharted franchise has been amazing so far.

ND is one of the few developers that's being constant at releasing quality games.

Now if Naughty Dog announced a X360 game at E3 that would bring the meltdowns.

Good for Insomniac, and for gamers in general. I think moving to multiplatform development, and by extension expanding their potential audience, is what's driving Insomniac's move to longer production cycles. This will only benefit their games.

Their multiplatform game will be a new IP. Based on their statement, I'm assuming they'll continue making exclusives for Sony (Resistance and Ratchet) in addition to this new IP that EA is publishing.
