What's with the name change?I'm honoring a girl whom I used to stalk.
I think you come across as resigned and bitter. Lock and ban (willco) for lying.
It's okay Jin, we're all having our quarter-life crises around here. It'll pass (I assume).
Just realize that people in Africa have to fight for water and sleep in their own fecal matter and probably have a better outlook on life than you.
but i just got an A- in my first summer course.
you'll fit in well with this forum.???
Malek do you even see flannel girl anymore?
Malek fucked her last week. He keeps up this persona when we all know he's a fucking pimp irl. dude is going to be a successful lawyer and chicks know it.

To pile on, I think I'm stir-crazy or experiencing cabin-fever. I'm very restless and insatiable.
Discuss while I punch myself in the face repeatedly.
Going outside? No sale (somewhat in a bind here--I hate staying inside locked away alone in my apartment, but I can't seem to leave it).
Going to the South? No sale.

Do you have cash to spare? Get a bike and bike-GPS. Funnest shit in the world. You haven't experienced life until you geocached your way to a used condom.
But really - you can go far on a bike. You can see a lot of cool stuff and get exercise. Just do it! If you hate it, sell the equipment. I bet you'll hang onto it, though.

I'll think about it; however, I really can't see myself bicycling across Manitoba.
Propagandhi live in Winnipeg Manitoba. I'd bike like a motherfucker over there.
Have either of you Canadian depressives considered reinventing yourselves as bleakly romantic singer-songwriters a la Leonard Cohen?
I guess it might work better if the room were circular with the action in the center and the research library section around the rim and at a higher elevation.

That sounds like a good idea. Glad you're doing well in your summer classes.
I have one year left, the knowledge of which is partly responsible for my terrible depression and anxiety of late. I will be trapped in a profession I want no part of, and there's nothing I can do. /emo-whitewhine
I'm going to try and get a prescription for an anti-depressant tomorrow to prevent myself from manabyting the dust. I'm also going car shopping, and maybe that will help, too: Why would a guy who just bought a car kill himself? Exactly! (Can you believe I took three different logic classes in college).

I didn't know you disliked your study. Maybe it's just that you don't see yourself becoming a dominating lawyer.
Corporate law--at least that's what I keep saying (I don't want to specialize in an area that might actually help someone), but I really have no idea.
Malek why are you going through school and getting a job in a field you don't want to be in?
What the fuck? Four pages?! My poor thread only got 17 responses. Now I'm even more angry and bitter :maf
I'm having the worst month of my life*: I was appointed as a mediator to communicate between a close couple and handle their divorce and now I got dragged into yet ANOTHER one. WTF!!
We need better laws in country, Sharia is crumbling.
* My posts will continue to suck and devoid anything remotely funny and/or witty. Deal with it.
:fbm at EB Law's tales of woe.You scored a point higher. :'(
How are the job prospects for Lawyers with science backgrounds? Just out of curiosity, I took the LSAT a couple of months ago and scored 163. I applied to a couple of tier 2-3 schools with a mediocre personal statement but still received some scholarships.
My GPA was pretty lousy the way LSAC calculated it but I guess the Medical background compensated a little for it.
My dad's friend makes 500,000 to 600,000 a year at some firm that specializes in biotech patents. That's why I was considering a career switch. The medical profession is such a grind. The minimum salary and 100% chance of being employed are great but the road is so damn long.
Is it still important to go Tier 1 if you have connections? I was hoping to become a godson of that family friend and get a job with him.
I would definitely try to get a 170 if I applied for real. All I did was study the logic games bible for two weeks and took one sample test before taking it the first time. I already knew how to read fast from studying for the MCAT and I guess all the internet trolling give me a pretty solid logical reasoning foundation.God damn braggart.
My meeting with the new associate dean went well. Afterward, she recommended that I visit career services to discuss my articling options. That didn't go well--at all. I'm basically fucked. I missed the deadline for placements by a few weeks for basically every city in Canada (apparently, I was never on the mailing list [all second year students were supposed to be on it] and was never alerted of any of the deadlines). Now I have to beg individual firms for a position or represent pig farmers in rural Manitoba or Saskatchewan.

I had a tough time improving my actual score. I improved my practice test scores by a lot (158 to the low 170s). It never translated to the real test. :'(

Anxiety feels bad man. I hope you can find some way to get it under control. Imo, psychiatric drugs alleviate the symptoms but don't solve the problem. Also, the way psychiatric drugs work make it really hard to predict its effects on patients. Sometimes, they could even make patients feel worse than before.
I'm in a similar position with my Engineering. I kinda dicked around for a bit and never properly registered with the professional orgs. and now I'm trying to go back and get all my experience documented to I can get my P.Eng and most of my supervisors don't work for the consulting companies (and one of those companies doesn't really exist anymore). They need meticulous records kept of your experience and I never did.
I'm basically well over a year unemployed and can't get my professional designation which excludes me from most of the jobs available in a weak market. I'm an EIT (Engineer in Training) and don't know if I'll have to start back at square one and reacquire another 4 years experience before I can get my P.Eng.
:(
Ugh, why the hell are you expecting a "major change" so soon? Just stick with it this time, and get back to us in at least 6 months.
What type of engineering and where are you looking to take the test?
you have any experience with buspar (or the Azapirone class) SG? It sounds like it's works for anti-anxiety but doesn't come with the addiction or withdrawal symptoms that benzos have. This is a bit of a concern for me as I don't drink anymore after have a bit of a bendy elbow in the past.
According to my wife your supervisors are required to stamp any work experience you did. If they don't, go to the board and make a formal complaint. The company existing doesn't matter anymore, as long you can find a PE with a stamp to certify your work experience.
I've never been on anti-depressants. I'm too cool for this thread :patel

You're short and poor.
I propose the Random Talk thread be closed and this become the new one.
The Dark Shake 3000 shouldn't have an active thread.
