The only reason I am sort of maybe interested is that Meguro is doing the soundtrack. If that just means they use the game ost then I'll pass, but if it's remixes/arranges or new songs then I'll watch for the music.

It's only one part of the gameplay. Either way, SMT3 and DDS1+2 :bow P3/4 aren't pure dungeon crawlers like those two.

The central plot of P4 is pretty poorly done because it's so obvious who the murderer is and who's going to get abducted. There are one or two decent twists in there, but overall it's really predictable. Thankfully everything surrounding the lackluster central plot is good enough to make up for it and make it the best JRPG ever :bow

Actually that kinda reminds me of Mass Effect 2. Except ME2's main plot is even worse and it's missing the middle portion of the game. But everything else is pretty awesome.

Post by: magus on April 11, 2011, 04:44:13 PM: i actualy didn't realize who is the murder but that's because it makes no sense! it's like the game goes "the murder is this guy! bet you didn't except that uh?" like pick 999,it has another murder mystery plot but you can actualy guess who's the murderer,the game drops huge hints about it but you are not really sure if it's him because you don't know what his motive and you want to know that! but in P4 "it's me! i did it for no reason!"

and everything surrounding the lackluster plot equals

1) a lackluster dungeon crawler which operates under bullshit atlus rule where "enemy that explodes in your face = insta game over = HARD GAME = BEST GAME EVER!" and the lamest battle system ever

2) tons and tons of boring s.link dialogue where you pretend to bone everything

so yea sometimes you have fun in the dungeon crawler segments (usualy when stuff isn't exploding on your face) and sometimes the s.link aren't boring (probably when they aren't saying "demi-kun") but over-rated doesn't even begin to explain it

That said, P4's s links are way worse than P3's. In P3, you play as a crafty devil who dons multiple personas to make people do your bidding. Convince a little girl to run away? Easy! Make your homeroom teacher fall in love with you? No problem! Convince your fellow student to keep going to kendo practice despite risking not being able to play sports ever again due to a leg injury? Where do I sign?! Raid bathroom stalls and bully students to find a perp who did drugs on campus?! Fuck yes!!!

P4's are more boring in comparison, and this is without mentioning the wonderful Sun slink in P3 where you help a dying young man come to terms with his life coming to an end.

The game keeps repeating random facts and stuff in the form of integrating it in the terrible script by having the characters say it over and over again, in a manner as if they're trying to explain things to a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow, which I guess is the intended audience for this franchise :lol

No, I'm not. It just seems to me you are only able to understand stories when looked at face value. The entire SMT franchise is steeped with symbolism. Are you new to this series?

Sounds like it'll be about the same quality as Persona 1 psp & Devil Summoner psp. Atlus R&D1 are great at making new games, but it seems like they suck at cheap ports and their old games don't hold up anymore.

I think The Answer as a whole soured me on P3's story. It's so fucking bad it drags the rest of the game down with it.
