SORRY MA'AM, SUNDAY IS MAN DAY
You a big college guy, distant? IIRC you are a U-Dub fan?
I don't see how anyone can take the NCAA seriously. All this bullshit about regulations and crap when it's obvious that these are just the teams GETTING CAUGHT NOW- everybody is fucking doing pretty much everything. That and the pathetic joke that determines their championship. Basically, it's worth paying attention to to figure out who will be good in the NFL and that's about it.
don't complain, you guys were gifted a pretty astonishing playoff birth and run last season. that should tide you over for a while

Complain? Far from it! I'm fucking stoked that we're going to have a couple a placeholders for Luck's spot next season. The more inept, the better.
Now I see they want to pick up Leinart too! Can't wait to see these clowns on the field.
At one time I though Leinart was going to be a top tier NFL QB but then after watching him play....ugh. It's not just because the guy checks down every play that they give him or that he's the Helen Keller of reading defenses, the guy just has no arm whatsoever. My niece can throw a tighter spiral.
USC players scare me. Very few have lived up to their hype. That's why in next year's draft I want Luck, not Barkley.

How much of throwing a long pass is due to technique? I can throw bullets in the 30 yd range but can't quite throw it 50 yds. It might be due to me releasing the ball too high. Whenever I try to throw it far, the ball seems to travel more vertically than horizontally.

**UPDATED NFL RUMORS**Source: Nnamdi has narrowed his choices down to Jets / 49ers / Texans but a late charge by Seahawks has made him think
Reggie Bush to the Dolphins ???
Reggie Bush to the Dolphins ???
Yeah, the Titans got Hasselbeck.
I know I'm biased here but I really think they got the best free agent QB out there. Despite what his numbers have been over the past couple of years, the guy can still ball when he's healthy. Give him a decent line along with Chris Johnson and the guy will light it up.

Irvin is one coked out motherfucker. Watch Sapp's reaction.
Ok, so who wants in on the bore's fantasy league? Respond here or shoot me a pm, plz.
niners finally sign some guys
they have weapons at every position except QB
oh niners
keep fucking that chicken
went to the texans game last night. holy shit, their defense is so much better. i think we can actually do this this season! Go first year of playoffs!
I'll play the fantasy football if you guys teach me how. Does it involve dice?
Tebow was 1 for 2 for 10 yards with a sack. He ran once for 7 yards.
Any more spots open in this league?
You know who else is a hard worker that tries his best? The distinguished mentally-challenged fellow that cooks your fries at McDonalds. I don't care how hard he tries, he'll never be Anthony Bourdain, and Tim Tebow will never be an NFL qb either.

I'll take hightower in trade. Let me know.
Alright, what's yer team name and I'll make you an offer. Can't recognize most of you bastards.
Whose team is the VA Giants? I'm playing them tomorrow.
That is stacked. You have Matthews and Woodson.
I will say as a casual OSU fan:piss
Just heard about Manning being out for three months. Holy shit
woodson is the only player in the NFL that can punch a dude and not get evicted.
Obviously, a lot of great defense was played tonight by both teams.Obviously.
Impressive first drive from the Lions but we left points on the field. After a horrible punt return we stuffed the Bucs def tho
Atlanta is ruining my fantasy week dayumm
I've got Ryan and White; feels bad man. On the plus side I have their defense, which is doing alright
Wow, PD's team is putting up the points.
Oh man, the Seacocks just gave up a back-to-back kickoff and a punt return. :lol
Ginn :bow2 :bow2
cowboys are embarrassing :lol
So I lost to the VA Giants because the Cowboys couldn't hold onto the ball.
18 points from his Jets defense even though the Cowboys scored 24. I'm rather surprised. I went out for the night thinking I had that matchup in the bag (Ochocinco isn't going to do shit tomorrow).
Wow. Congrats on your win.
Colts are looking like the Cavaliers without LeBron right now. It's a bit shocking.
Urlacher isn't playing on Sunday most likely, so NO definitely can beat the Bears.
omg @ Niners fans on GAF who still think Alex Smith can get the job done :rofl
All Alex Smith can get the job done statements should be caveated by the fact that the "job" is winning the NFC West.
My team did really well this week, second only to the ludicrous 174 points that Matt Ryan Stalker put up.
Btw, I'm noticing that McFadden and Turner are paired together quite a bit. I'm in five leagues, and between those leagues there are three teams that have that pairing. I guess owners drafting between 9-12 who wanted to go RB-RB in the first two rounds would find those two as the best RBs left on the board. It worked out, since they're two of the best RBs in football right now, ahead of guys like Mendenhall and CJ2K who went several spots ahead of them on average.
Saw an interview with Cutler talking about the sacks and knock downs he's received this year. Dude has taken an utter beating through two games so far. It's been that way pretty much since he's been in Chicago; he's a resilient guy but no one can take that type of pain every week forever. I'm surprised they haven't addressed the o line
Wow, Jermichael Finley single-handedly powered me to a win over the Pythons. I feel like I cheated.
Newton had a pretty good game given the circumstances. I'm very impressed. Just saw the highlights of his TD and two-point conversion. A lot of people hated on him all through the off season, due to his past with his dad/Florida/Auburn, and his "fake" personality; not to mention the media's attempts to paint him as some arrogant ass. He kept his head down and worked all summer, and it's showing.
Jim Schwartz was none too pleased with the confusion and he let the referees know about it. Luckily for us, the referee's microphone picked up what Schwartz was yelling at the officials: "Learn the f---ing rules!":rofl
No microphones picked up what Schwartz had to say after his epic fist pump, but it is believed that Schwartz yelled this: "Minnesota … f--- you!" You gotta love the Schwartz.
Alex Smith did absolutely nothing with the Niners offense for 3 quarters. ate five sacks and threw zero touchdowns. Ratings wise, he still ended up with the best QB play in the division and the first out-of-division road win for the NFC West, and, as well, the first road win for the NFC West.
The NFC West is so bad that the Niners really didn't have a chance at Luck. I thought the Seahawks were the kings of horrible this year, but Arizona just lost to them, so the division may even screw up Seattle's chance at Luck.
To be fair, Vick is getting murdered on every other play whether he stays in the pocket or not, throws in time or not, etc.
What are the chances of us slaughtering them?
Flacco and especially Sanchez are overrated fer sure, goddam am I tired of "Don't we geeks understand the sport better than the meatheads who actually participate" pieces, especially when they're as sloppy as they are self-congratulatory.
Erm, Garcon's game started 20 minutes before that post, so I hope you had him in already.
Alright, Fantasy-Borians... I need some advice.
Do I start Pierre Garcon (IND) or Mike Williams (TB)?
Alright, Fantasy-Borians... I need some advice.

Dammit if I was home at the time I would have told you Garcon. I picked him up on Friday. He got me 27 points today
Christ, the Bengals are 3-2. wtf
An Atlanta Fan? Triumph?
I don't know what to think about next week. On one hand, I'm not particularly worried about Alex Smith. On the other hand Gore is a beast, and the 49ers have an impressive rush defense and a great coach (I still wish he had gone to Michigan instead). The 49ers keep finding ways to win games, and they're tough.
I think the Lions will win considering it's a home game, but I'm not nearly as confident about this game as I was just a few weeks ago.
I agree with this. The only thing I have to add is that the Lions D line is probably the best in the league and the niner's O line has been shaky. I'm gonna say it will be the 49ers O line that wins or loses this game.I don't know what to think about next week. On one hand, I'm not particularly worried about Alex Smith. I kind of see it as a close game with the Lions pulling away at the end. The Niners look better each week, but they have succeeded based on defense and a +10 turnover advantage. Detroit isn't as mistake prone as some of the teams the Niners have faced. I think Josh Morgan being out is going to hurt them more than people think. Crabtree and Kyle Williams are both not in sync with the offense yet which means that they'll probably throw at Ginn Jr a lot if the tight ends are covered.
The Lions biggest advantage is that the Niners secondary is their weakest link in the D and I'm not sure they have someone to cover Megatron or Pettigrew.

Saw that they're sending Palmer off this morning. Actually shocked. I thought their owner was way too much of a prick to let him go.
Injuries+bye week= :'(
My RBs suck good lordie
I think Tebow is going to tank, but he is playing against the Dolphins this week. That's probably not going to help him prove how shitty of a QB he is. Hell, I'd start him if my QB wasn't the best QB in the game this year.
No, he's completely terrible. I want Suh to rip his head off and shit down his throat..
I'M STARTING TEBOW THIS WEEK INSTEAD OF MATT RYANspoiler (click to show/hide):teehee[close]
This Seahawks vs. Browns game is amazingly bad. :lol
Wait, he really has 24 points? What the fuck :lol
Flacco, stop targeting Boldin you fucktard!
This is the worst fucking game of all time. Can Gabbert throw a fucking pass? No way MJD should have gotten to 100 with a 3.8 average. Fuck Jacksonville, fuck Gabbert, and fuck every stupid receiver on that Jags team who couldn't even get open. :maf :maf :maf
I'm glad you aren't in our league Gundam, you seem to have every big play player dammit :lol
Tebow
:lol
Dunno why I keep picking Dallas to win big games in my pick'em league. Jesus, Romo lol
And now, unless San Diego's defense can pull off at least 24 points in tonight's game against the Chiefs, I still lose to Nick with fucking Tebow.

David Jacoby: "What do you think of Tim Tebow?"
Melody: "Of what?"
Jacoby: "You have no idea who Tim Tebow is?"
Melody: "No."
Jacoby: "You are wearing a Mecklenburg jersey?"
Melody: "I don't know who Tim Tebow is, and I am wearing a Mecklenburg jersey."
:heart
you played the browns :lol
Tebow about to win a clutch game again oh shit
Flacco went Super Saiyan Level 4
dayum
Also I really need to re-organize my team. Peyton Manning's injury is still fucking me over; I've got Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon, and neither are producing. I'm picking up Antonio Brown for next weekend, he had a huge game tonight for the Steelers.
I'm gonna lose unless LeSean McCoy goes super beast mode tomorrow night
Are you 11 Doctors? I basically conceded the game to you this week. We'll meet again in the playoffs.
Suck it Creepy Old Guy
Anybody want a RB? I have Fred Jackson or MJD available for a good receiver.
eh, the 49ers play in a pretty bad division, they can get away with it (for now). Initially Sanchize was getting bailed out for a good run game and a great defense. The run game has collapsed and the defense has struggled all year; conversely the 49ers have a great running game and a good defense (best run defense in league iirc).
It seems like Sanchize has stalled as a QB, imo

I am disappoint
The Niners haven't played their division since week 1.
The Jets do need a run game if they aren't going to totally open it up or at least supplement it with quick throws and screens.
Cutler out for season
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/20/jay-cutler-expected-to-miss-6-8-weeks/related/
Ouch. He's been having a quietly good season, hate to see this happen. Of course as a Lions fan this makes it more likely we get the wildcard and make the playoffs, but I'd never wish injury on anyone. Sucks
Eli Manning :lol
Fuck yeah go Niners. :PWe are going to get along just fine. :-*
I don't understand how they could calculate the Lions D at -1. 4 INTs and 2 sacks?
Fuck yeah go Niners. :PWe are going to get along just fine. :-*
1st half the niners offense was awful. It should have been 22-0 at the half not 9-0. Good thing the defense is full on beast. :rock
I'm still waiting for him to turn water into coors light.
#TebowGod
I'm probably tempting fate, but Tebow looks mortal. Welcome to reality.
I wanted him to keep playing just to break all of Favre's records. Except for the career interceptions one.
Yeah another overhyped by the media whiteboy getting headlines over everyone else ::)
It is only a matter of time till a black QB just comes in, murders records and becomes the greatest QB of all time. :bow Black people :bow2
:bow Steve McNair :bow2
Skip Bayless said that he'd take Tebow over Rodgers in the last 2 mins of a game. :lol
He basically uses the same logic that he does in justifying Lebron not being a top 5 player.

Marshawn Lynch was dropped twice in our league. True story. I almost picked him up, but went with Jackie Battle instead. :lol
Wow, my team is butt-fucking the Cincy Bungholes. I was projected to lose, too.
I should have put Megatron on the trading block in the first half of the season. Probably could have gotten an elite RB for him.
It's going to be an interesting MVP vote after all. . . .He's dominating Rodgers statically because he has slightly more passing yards, but fewer yards per attempt, fewer rushing yards, fewer TDs, and more than twice as many interceptions?
The vote likely will come down to personal preference. How much benefit does Rodgers get if the Packers finish 16-0? What about Brady's ability in the clutch? What about Brees' sheer statistical domination?
LOL

Hallelujah.
i couldn't pass on the herald of the end times, plus she talked me into watching the hawks play which was an actual GREAT game
Epic Lions win oh man. We're still getting dumb penalties but the team showed up big in the final minutes. The next two games will be tough
Sportscenter will be glorious tonight.

Not half as glorious as watching Skip Bayless try to spin this shit on first take tomorrow morning.
Hawks are gonna beat the shit out of Arizona.
the TEARS from the juicebox jesus fans hoping for a little sunday post-sermon witnessing are going to be SO SWEET tomorrow. it will make having to write these whitepapers all the more tolerable, because at least half my brain will be concocting all sorts of wonderful, wonderful trolls
"hey, actually caught the pats game, bro! shame tebow actually took the lord's word to heart and rested on the sabbath, though -- maybe he should try scientology?"
I'm getting scared about Arizona finishing ahead of us for the wildcard. Their last two games (@ CIN, then home against SEA) is easier than ours (@ SD, then @ GB) :-\
SD looks scary good tonight, and playing at Green Bay is never a good thing.
I'm listening online, my television doesn't get CBS :-\
Don't we get in as long as we win this one PD?
Scenario 1
Arizona Cardinals lose to or tie the Cincinnati Bengals (1 p.m. ET in Cincinnati)

If you manage to keep the 5 seed, you'll get to play a shitty NFC East team in round one too, so the Lions might even GASP get a playoff win!

Jerry Jones, the NFL's only owner/general manager, won't even consider changing the structure of the Dallas Cowboys' front office, despite the fact that disappointing seasons have been the norm since the franchise's mid-1990s dynasty died.
"The facts are that I've spent 22 years doing this exactly the same way," Jones said Tuesday on KRLD-FM. "I've made a lot of changes from year to year as time goes along, but frankly, I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."
Jones dismissed the idea of hiring a general manager from outside the organization, such as Bill Polian after the Indianapolis Colts fired the architect of their Super Bowl team. Jones emphasized that he uses information from many different sources to make football decisions.
In Jones' mind, adding a general manager to the payroll would clutter the decision-making process, not improve it.
"The thing you've got to realize is that when you have an owner that is full-time as the owner, then you create a situation where you have as much turnover at GM as you do at the coaching level," Jones said. "And I think that just deters from the mix."
The Cowboys have had six coaches, one general manager and one playoff win in the last 15 seasons.
The Cowboys just completed an 8-8 season in which they beat only one team that finished .500 or better. But Jones believes his team was talented enough to make a playoff run, and he's pleased with the coaching.
"More often than not, when you're in the kind of shape we are statistically, you're doing better in the playoffs," Jones said.
If Detroit actually wins, I want PD to come in here and apologize for not having any faith in his team.
this is just depressingTebow will lift our spirits.

Tebow bringing the lulz.
Tebow comes in and wipes the earth clean of rapists (and rape apologists, lets be real here Steelers fans) seems only right to me. Now he will wipe the NFL clean of cheaters as well.
If Elway asked someone what Tebow's passing numbers were today, they'd have to answer, "John, 316."
Mmmm...atheist tears, they taste like sweet, sweet honey. :drool

Yeah, I can't do it.
Don't care, and I'm still smh'ing at Eli over Stafford. No Lions are playing in the game either; Megatron dropped out due to injury
How can the NFL change the game so it means something?
Have they thought about setting it up like MLB? Winner gets home in the Super Bowl. Its not much, but I don't know what else you could do.
Watched a few plays. Its a fucking flag football game.
They should offer every player on the winning squad NFL Player Conduct Offsets, where you get to use them to get out of trouble with the league. Put a vicious hit on a qb and give him a concussion? No problem, spend your offsets! Did you totally rape a chick (again!) and now it's looking like you're gonna get suspended? Spend them offsets, baby!
"They were right," Ihedigbo later confirmed. "Bill ran that play for weeks. He kept bringing it up: 'Now see, this is where Ihedigbo got caught deep.'
"After a while, it became more generic. It was, 'Hey, we might see a double reverse this week like we did against Washington.' And there I am, up on the screen, in the wrong place all over again."
For a split second, Gostowski actually thought he might escape the humiliating film sessions, since his mistake occurred during the season finale.
Ah, no.
"Bill teed it up the first week the following season," Gostowski said. "He reminded me of that kick almost every day
Weaver juked past Bruschi, then burned him for a 14-yard touchdown thrown by Jay Fiedler seven seconds before halftime. The Patriots went on to lose 30-10.
"I knew I was going to hear about it," Bruschi said, "but Bill was still showing that play five years later. By then it was no longer, 'Look at what Bruschi did.' It was, 'Here's an example of bad situational football.' By 2007 I was saying to him, 'Hey Bill, do you think we can find another example?"'
Bruschi admitted the repeated humiliation was, at times, infuriating.
"But I've got to tell you, it works," he said.
"He never compliments you," linebacker Rob Ninkovich said. "He'll throw you a little something once in a while, but it's never, 'Good job.'
Vrabel checked in as an eligible receiver, then turned and hauled in the touchdown pass from Brady.
Upon further review, the coach was peeved by the result. Belichick pieced together a montage of Vrabel's offensive forays, then highlighted the lowlights of his attempts to block in his role as a tight end.
"No wonder we throw to you," the Belistrator cackled when the lights came up. "Nobody in their right mind would run behind a block like that."
I LOVE YOU COACH HITLER
I can't root against Tom Brady so I'm jumping off the Giants bandwagon
That halftime show was GAWDAMNED AWFUL
I can't hear Party Rock Anthem without thinking of North Korea.
So....is that the end of the Pats? They were lucky as hell to get to the SB this year imo. They have no defense, no run game, Brady is getting old, they don't have enough offensive weapons (their TE being hurt really exposed just how weak the pass game is) etc.
Those three Super Bowl victories were just flukes! Tom Brady has been exposed as a mediocre quarterback!

:lol
Brees/Rogers/Peyton would have 3-4 SBs if they had the Giants defense
Redskins give up 3 #1s & a #2 to get 2nd draft spot. Hey, when it comes to bold moves, Dan Snyder hasn't been wrong yet...
http://deadspin.com/5894540/john-elway-has-brass-balls
John Elway has really big balls. HUGE balls. Balls the size of light bulbs. His balls are so big, you could harvest stem cells from them and plant them inside Peyton Manning's cervical vertebrae to facilitate the healing process.
They're bringing in a Christian to replace a Christian!
The real question we need to ask ourselves is "what if Peyton Manning was black?"
The real question we need to ask ourselves is "what if Peyton Manning was black?"
Most likely he'd be a poor passer and great runner, like Tebow.
Manning is a big time republican, I didn't know he was a Christian tho
The Dolphins aren't gonna take this "no one wants to play for our leprous organization" shit lying down. No sir. They just signed DAVID GARRARD.Better than Tebow.
He'll be started eventually, the problem will be that the situation will be significantly worse for his play style. Denver has a very good OL, and only gave up so many sacks because Tebow moves around in the pocket so stupidly. Imagine him doing that in...Jacksonville, or Miami
I seriously doubt he'll win a starting job in training camp though. He'll get the job after the team takes a few losses
:drudge :drudge :drudge
TEBOW TRADED TO THE JETS, NUMBER OF INCOMPETENT QBS ON ROSTER DOUBLES IMMEDIATELY
A WILD TEBOW APPEARS!
Seems like there might be language in Tebow's contract that might cause the trade to be voided according to Adam Schefter. Talk is now that the Rams might actually end up with him.
If the Jets trade does fall through, I guess we can finally say that Tebow was aborted!
I really dislike Roger Goodell. I think they should make some crazy old redneck like Jerry Glanville the next commissioner to undo all of the bullshit wussification that The Rog has brought unto my formerly gloriously violent league.Quote"We are all accountable and responsible for player health and safety and the integrity of the game. We will not tolerate conduct or a culture that undermines those priorities," said Goodell, whose league faces more than 20 concussion-related lawsuits brought by hundreds of former players.
Never going to happen. Lawsuits are the biggest part of it.
Watch Rugby in that case. Or fucking UFC. It's not Football has ever that violent in the first place.
There's no question the league has gotten rather soft in a lot of areas. Big hits are often given fines, even when it's clear no malice was intended, or any laws broken.
And all of jacksonville is flooded with tears
Skip and Smith are both terrible. Who cares what they say
Jesus christ I'm so tired of this media narrative of "TEBOW ENTERS THE BELLY OF THE BEAST/SODOM AND GOMORRAH." Last I checked this isn't the 70s anymore, New York is not a bad city by any stretch of the imagination.
We learned through Detroit-area reports Monday that Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure has been cited twice this offseason for marijuana possession. The first came on Feb. 18, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, and the second was March 12. Leshoure paid a fine for this first citation, but was scheduled to be arraigned Monday for the second after he attempted to eat the marijuana to avoid a charge when stopped by police, according to the Free Press.http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth
No, that final line is not a typo. But it's not as relevant as it seems as we consider the most important question raised by these episodes. Namely: How will they impact Leshoure's standing with the team and/or eligibility with the NFL?
The Panthers get some new shit as well:
Here's the rest:

Wow, Hawks are the only ones they fucked with at all. Sounds like we're the test team for further changes for everyone else down the road.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Louisiana was told Friday that New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis had an electronic device in his Superdome suite that had been secretly re-wired to enable him to eavesdrop on visiting coaching staffs for nearly three NFL seasons, "Outside the Lines" has learned.
Why would they need to trade to get a guy that would fall to them anyways?
Irvin was arrested AGAIN last month. Dude has serious issues with the law, ie. Pac Man Jones Redux.
Plus, there were more talented players at the same position. What the hell were Schneider and Carrol thinking?!?
WHAT THE FUCK HAWKS.
Good point. I just wish we'd do something about our piss poor offensive line.
I was taken back by all the booing. Every time Goodell came on stage, boos.
LaMichael James to the 49ers :o
I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL goes out of business in the next 15-20 years. The lawsuits will be just be a cost of business. The NFL isn't going anywhere.
