denmark is the greatest country in the world. got my first blow-job there, after being given watermelon slices from a pool of vodka by a cute blonde who was a year older than me.
:heartspoiler (click to show/hide)a shame about the language though :([close]
Somehow Germany manages to rule Europe economically despite all this laziness....wish the Japanese would look into that...
Japanese holidays aren't bad at all really - I get 20 days vacation plus all the national holidays. But it could always be better! *stares at Gundam*
Well I guess Europeans have a history of standing up for our own rights, Americans for corporate rights. (French Revolution, let's kill the elite. American Revolution, stop taxing us.)spoiler (click to show/hide):teehee[close]
But America is so diverse I don't see much of a reason to live anywhere else. I can get a European like lifestyle by living on the east coast.
I have never gotten a paid vacation in my life. Closest thing to it was the only time I ever left the country, but there was quite a bit of labor involved in that trip.
Also the only time I've ever been on a yacht in my life too. A 70-foot Striker From New Orleans to Saint Martin and back.
Some friends of mine went down there on a booze cruise and ended up leaving a guy down there, given his not having a passport (and his very-long criminal record) somebody had to go back and get him. So two days after they get back, "Hey Thor, you willing to drive my boat from Nawlya to Saint Martin and back? I'll give ya three grand and pay expenses!"
So I get down there and this motherfucker ain't quit drinking since he got down there. I had to basically carry this dude a long ass way back to the boat. I did find the humidor on the boat which had 30 really fat blunts that had an eighth (3.5 grams each if you're keeping track boogie) in 'em apiece, and I smoked every last one of them on the way back to New Orleans. I ended up falling asleep due to smoking a quarter pound by myself.
Oh to be 17 again.

:lol
I'd like to visit. But since I'm American with likely only 5 day vaycay the only thing I'd be able to do is do generic tourist crap.

T234 should write a book. And get Patel to co-write to ensure the prose is decent.

America is not even close to being as diverse as Europe are effing kidding me man? :-\
The company I'm contracting with gives their employees 20 PTO days per year, but due to company culture no-one uses more than 4 or 5 unless they're sick. The rest of the PTO just disappears. Repeatedly and regularly.
No, there's no law forcing them to pay out unpaid PTO; they either use it or lose it, even if they quit. The only time I ever see consecutive vacation days used is the month prior to someone quitting. Then they take off their remaining time, and then show up on the last day to fill out departure paperwork. The company I'm contracting with gives their employees 20 PTO days per year, but due to company culture no-one uses more than 4 or 5 unless they're sick. You get them payed out?
This is typical Japans bull btw. I really feel bad for Japanese and Koreans.
they dont transfer them to the next year? one dude I worked with at my previous job took like 50 days off from building up for-fucking-ever.The PTO rolls over for the next year only, so there are only ever 20x2 days maximum on reserve for any given employee. At the end of the 2nd year, the first year's remaining time is permanently erased.
Naw the difference is Hawaii is a STATE, not some random offshore holding. And deserts.
Hawaii has senators and is a STATE. How much representation do the islands in the Caribbean get in European parliaments? Probably not much.
