tough i guess the game is probably coming out on 3DS and 3DS is all new and shiny while the DS is old and decrepit

So? How is this proof of anything, if Phoenix Wright titles sold well? Sometimes spin offs just sell considerably worse than main series games. AA4 was also really bad.

Post by: Tasty on January 29, 2012, 07:33:10 PM: They should just let Nintendo handle things in the west. They did a good job with DQ9, MH3, and Layton. Well, they didn't publish MH3 but they helped in less visible ways.

Speaking of, I'd release Layton vs. Phoenix first and try to gain mindshare that way. Well, if AA5 is for 3DS.

It's not like these games cost any money to localize. Hell I could do the entire localization for a couple grand if I was still in college. Sure it's a bunch of text, but it's just visual novel with some interactivity. If they add voice acting to AA5 it could be a problem, but like with SRW, the pure amount of text involved means it won't be full voice. At most I could see the trial sections being voiced.

Do people forget these are physical products that have to be made, packaged and distributed? Do people forget that retailers do have say in what they choose to stock, and can return languishing stock at a detriment to the publisher? I hate to say it, but pray it has the possibility of being an ios game.
