NO reading linkbait stories on TechCrunch, Business Insider and the like found through google/google news searches
NO clicking on obvious clickbait links
NO reddit
NO Hacker News
NO blog comments except on obscure academic blogs and the like
NO forums except on obscure sites like the bore
NO wasting time on stupid bullshit.

twitter/facebook are actually ok since at least I can follow people I find interesting, vs. being pushed around by a compulsive urge to look at train wrecks and become a train wreck myself.

Linkbait story would be "WHAT CAN SUPER MARIO LEARN FROM SKYRIM" that you see on IGN or Kotaku or whatever. A clickbait link would be more like "GUYS DID YOU SEE WHAT REGGIE JUST ABOUT SONY LOLOLOLOL" and it's just something mundane that's been completely misconstrued to get people to click the link.
