Title: Borderlands: For The Pre-Sequel [360/PS3/PC]

Quote
The Pre-Sequel tells the story of how Jack came to become the villain of Borderlands 2, with you helping his (initially well-meaning) rise to eventual super-villainy.
In the demo Athena and Willhelm are trying to storm a Hyperion base in order to stop a giant death-ray that's blasting lumps out of the moon.

The lack of atmosphere has a couple of gameplay implications: Firstly you need to keep your oxygen meter topped up by collecting O2 canisters, which drop in the same way as other loot.
Not fun in itself, but you can also vent these to enable double jumps and to power jetpacks. This creates cool platforming opportunities—one massive jump sees the characters land on a pillar of moon rock, below which lava from a laser strike flows—and adds a pleasing verticality to the shootouts as enemies whizz around.
You can also shoot out their helmets to rob them of air. As if being shot in the face wasn't already inconvenience enough.

Why so? A customer base of many millions.

Also, I bet you get this in the PS4/XB1 BORDERLANDS COMPLEAT port somewhere down the line.

when the real sequel is taking too long these companies always resort to prequels

I never finished BL2, but I put a good 40+ hours into it and a bunch of the expansion material. I'll buy this on a Steam sale someday.

A new Duke game built from the ground up would be awesome - hell, Duke RPG which is just re-skinned Borderlands would be fine, provided Duke talks and says cool shit.

Duke Nukem = funny and cool

Borderlands = unfunny to the point of cringe, lame ass characters

c'mon sceneman you gotta be trolling. Duke Nukem's humor is the EXACT kind of lazy, referential humor that Borderlands' is. Saying one is better than the other is like saying shit smells better than poop.

Sceneman is right that Borderlands tries very hard, but he is wrong in saying that Duke is better.

Duke is trying even harder now, original duke was cool because he took himself serious.

Anyhoo Borderlands is a snoozefest so whatevs. Im holding out for Hellgate London for my fps loot fix.

Funstockdigital has the game for 45.02 (up apparently from 42.00 last week). Might have to go this route to save a little money if the 4 pack is a no go.

I played at events so I never played straight through from the beginning. My limited time with the game was always in the moon segments with random characters so my impressions are really limited.

Anyways, after a while you get used to it but my very first impression was that it was slow as fuck, floaty, and honestly not fun because of that. Then I got into a Moon Buggy it was ok.

I just assumed it was going to get treated like Arkham Origins. "Ugh, more of that stuff we loved? No thanks, do something different please without changing the series, with the original developer not these unknowns!" When it's really just like a little bit below in quality and better in some ways.

It's like having your brain smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick.

Athena melee build so far. Will toy around with her skill tree but right now straight down the middle tree (xiphos?)

Who's everyone playing as?

Nisha but thinking about starting an Athena playthrough.

How much of your BL2 badass rank carries over to this game? I have my games/save files on separate computers...

I think you just get a flat BAR amount for having BL1/BL2 saves. I got 12 tokens at the start of the game and some skins and a gun.

First time (outside of a Torgue vending machine in B2) that I have gotten a legendary from Marcus. That includes B1 and B2.

And I have played a metric fuck ton of Borderlands.

Look at my available funds. Nothing to sell to make up the difference.

I wasn't feeling the game that much at first but it's been picking up and I'm having a fun time. Just unlocked the Grinder so maybe that will give me some cool shit.

Did you happen to open a weapon crate that costs moonstone? Happened to me and I had the same reaction until my son mentioned them...I opened 2 without paying attention.

Unless they have patched it there is an easy way to get as much moonstone as you want...as long as you have B1 or B2 (or both) installed. If you want me to tell you how just let me know - it is pretty damned tempting though.

You should really use the grinder if you haven't. I've made some incredibly overpowered weapons with that thing.

Remember if you are using the grinder for legendary weapons and you don't get the one you want, or it sucks, just ALT+F4 out of the game.

Make sure you're not using Grindr for legendary weapons, I made that mistake once.

Why you say that Joe? The grinder is pretty much the only way to get on level legendaries. It's also (currently) the only way to get the legendary item drops from bosses that only spawn once.

** Besides farming vending machines, that is.
