In Far Cry® 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.
“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer. “Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry® 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”
Customers who pre-order Far Cry® 4 will receive the Limited Edition which includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three action-packed single-player missions featuring the popular character Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun called “The Impaler”. The pre-order is now available at all major retailers.
Fans can tune into Ubisoft’s Media Briefing at E3 for an exclusive first look at Far Cry® 4.
A tacky swedish house dj subjugating swarthy natives in the himalayas is fairly unique I suppose. Hoping for a early twist that drags the game into blood dragon territory.

(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BnsJmnkCUAAf1rW.jpg:large)Did I ever tell you the definition of flamboyancy?
That evil gays have good haircuts.
Based on a Far Cry 4 preorder screen that popped up on Uplay before being quickly taken offline, that guy is the bad guy, and it's your job to take him down. "Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence," the game description stated. "You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother's dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min."
Gaje Ghale (Nepali: गजे घले) VC ( 1 August 1918 – 28 March 2000) was a Nepalese Gurkha recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Blood Dragon 2, please.
Pagan Min (21 June 1811 – 14 March 1880), was the ninth king of the Konbaung dynasty of Burma.
And he was compellingly creepy.
If you can run Farcry 3 Blood Dragon really well, will you get similar results with Farcry 3?

Haven't played a FC since FC1, but I got this for free in the Nvidia 970/980 deal. Looks like Uncharted 2 FPS but Ubisoft so dunno.
Yup. Far Cry 3 was good fun outside of the side activity cruft common to all Ubisoft games. FC4 looks much the same.Haven't played a FC since FC1, but I got this for free in the Nvidia 970/980 deal. Looks like Uncharted 2 FPS but Ubisoft so dunno.
Embargo'd reviews aren't a great sign after AC:U
It's more like Assassin's Creed x Crysis.
Outposts were the meat of the game, to me. I meant stuff like the several types of collectibles and score 'challenges'. The races were OK though.Yup. To be perfectly honest; i liked the side activities. The island is beautiful and there are lots of vistas to drink in, the hunting was fun (cassowaries, punching sharks in the face).
Capturing outposts is fun too, I love the options of approach you were given.
I'll take the freedom of play FC3 gives you over some 80s nostalgia dickmilking anyday.
Fuck you Ubisoft!!! I'm one of the Nvidia Promo Code via new GPU who cannot launch the game still. Been with customer support and nothing. Huge thread over at Ubisoft forums.

Oh woah, I was thinking how much I liked the music in the game when it's playing ambiently while you're exploring through fields or climbing a mountain and then I saw on the gaf thread that freaking CLIFF MARTINEZ did the soundtrack aka dude-who-always-works with Steven Soderbergh. I'm a big fan of his soundtracks in Contagion and The Knick, so no wonder I like the ost for this so much. Good pick for a composer.Yeah, the crazy thing is the only just announced him as composer like 3 weeks ago.
Me and my bro were riding around on elephants, just wrecking shit, for about an hour of that.
I definitely prefer FC3's story and setting over this, but more of the same formula is fine
Spent last night butt smacking rhinos with an elephant trunk along scenic cliffsides; good times :rock
I'm about 50% completion (according to the game) and I just finished the Paul level. I think this game is just really uninteresting. I'm glad they dont make you collect everything for achievements this time. Just a few of each one.
Sorry dudes, I went and re-watched the FarCry 3 vids with Vaas and the boss fights (and their QTEs...) and the have more life and effort placed than the entirety of FarCry 4 so far. Even the main character (Jason) is more lively and his VA puts effort in than BOREDOM Ghale. None of the characters in this game can pronounce the following words correctly: "Kyrat" - "Ajay" - "Ghale"
All you do in this game is get yelled at by Anita and Sabal (everything you do is WRONG), while Troy Baker just blabs on and on sporadically. The achievements for each of the "boss" characters says - "Decided the fate of ___________"
Except you dont decide shit. Each mission plays out the same (or does it?) the only one it gave me a "choice" for was Noore, if that.
FarCry 3 - 9/10
FarCry 4 - 7/10
that little gyrocopter is pretty badass
I think this game more or less improves on what Far Cry 3 set up but then adds two big fuck yous with snakes and birds. and the attack animation that begins several feet ahead of you. some of these assholes spawn right outside of outposts and mess with you if you're trying to go undetected.
If you hear an eagle screech then you either dash to avoid or or immediately look up to gun it down. Other animals are immediately neutralized if you're in a vehicle since they don't really bother you. Once you get into the groove of the game they become a non-issue. Snakes are annoying, though.
