It's gonna be Skyward Sword 2 and you'll like it. Wave the gamepad like a sword to make Link swing!

Have started Skyward Sword two times and haven't been able to finish it. If it is SS 2, I am out.

It will be Wind Wanker, an M-rated title for the PS Vita.

they have the engine ready for Wind Waker HD. Plus they introduced the HD port to the Wii U audience.

Nintendo is usually cheap when it comes to recycling assets.

That's why they made Ocarina 2 instead of Link Between Worlds, right? ::)

Hyrule Warriors is exclusive to Wii U.

I could see this game be like WW simply because this way they can repeat all the touch screen gimmick from the DS Zelda to the new one

Gotta find a use for that chunk of plastic

TBH most of Nintendo's teams seem to have given up on it. Mario 3D World, DK, and Mario Kart barely use it.

At least 3D Land tried to incorporate the 3D screen into some of those rooms.

The amount of content needed for a new Zelda is staggering so I wouldn't be surprised if we just got a piece of concept art like for SS's debut.

Also like for SS, I wouldn't be surprised if the new one recycles the fuck out of areas because "HD is hard, manz."

I kind of think the next Zelda won't be a realistic style because it would look similar too Hyrule Warriors. But I guess Nintendo doesn't give a shit about product differentiation.

After the sales of TF, I bet DKR's going on timeout.

Ugh. But it was good! This isn't like Metroid or Star Fox where the franchises best days are long past. TF is probably the best DK game of all time.

So much potential. :gloomy

I'd love a game with WW's animation quality and generally colourful / contrasty spirit. WW has aged brilliantly and is still lovely to look at -- some of the other games? That's not so.

I think it'll be stylistically closer to the demo they showed though... there'll be butthurt either way if its not perfect. I honestly just hope they do whatever they want, and don't shoe-horn fan expectations into their planning and creative process too much. I think the big thing they'll have taken away from ALBW is that people love the orchestrated music, and they love the ability to do dungeons out of order etc. I also think if they've made such a good effort for Mario Kart, they'll be making a similarly big effort (visually) for Zelda.

I'm starting to suspect that all of the Wii U Nintendo games released so far share some DNA. There's something about the materials rendering on Nintendo Land, Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 that says to me maybe we're looking at some shared code -- as Super Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker were said to. I've been reminded of Wind Waker HD's sky and bloom once or twice in Mario Kart 8 too. If the games are all related in this way, I'd love to see some of the effects on show in Mario Kart 8 (on Moo Moo Meadows, GBA Mario Circuit etc) show up in Zelda. It has a bizarre cartoony style in which realistic effects actually look really nice.

let's be real radiohead, even if it *is* perfect, there'll be butthurt

it's my favorite part of any zelda release.  also looking forward to skyward sword suddenly being considered an "underrated game".

They always hit such a high standard of polish that I'm always satisfied to some degree and always really enjoy looking forward to each release... all the retrospective love, hate and arguing about timelines just leaves me bemused.

As someone who never hated the controls of SS, I already consider it an underrated game :P had the Wii been a stronger machine and the various regions made to feel more like one big interconnected world, I think people would have liked it better. As much as I'm always happy with Zelda, they have all been really iterative and in some way imperfect for me since Link to the Past and Ocarina. I loved ALBW, but it felt like the development team had been given it as homework - something they had to do so they'd remember what a good Zelda played like before they made the next one. They need to knock this one out of the park creatively and let the series step out of its own shadow.

was I right or wrong? Graphical style seems to be an evolution of Wind wakers celshading though.
